Solid list. Would personally put Kroos or Modric besides Sissoko in the starting line up, even though he just had a really solid game.

It was gonna be either him or Modrić but in the end I chose Iniesta because he was carrying Spain on his shoulders while el capitán Sergio Ramos was having brain farts everywhere.

Serious question with all trolling aside. Why is Ronaldo in these teams? Aside from the game against Hungary as very poor, missed countless chances, and wasn't even the best player on his team. Would put Gomez, Grizzy, and Payet as my front 3.

Ronaldo came through twice for Portugal when they were on the brink of going out. He also took the important penalty against Poland. Payet apart from in the group stage really disappointed for me and if you think Ronaldo did little why is Gomez mentioned????

Other than Hungary when was the second time?

Wales. He scored a goal out of nowhere to save Portugal. They never looked like scoring until he scored that header

The header was great but they weren't by any means "on the brink of elimination". That was their best game of the tournament before the final and they would've likely won anyway.

I just don't see his contribution as that monumental. Payet and Grizzy were fantastic in every game, constantly creating chances and scoring. Grizzy almost single handedly took them past Ireland and Germany. Gomez was Germany's most important player, even if that was more due to Gotze and Muller sucking than anything else. But it showed how much they needed him against France.

Portugal mainly won this tournament due to their fantastic defense and talented midfield. Even in attack, Renato Sanchez probably was a more important source of chances than Ronaldo. I just don't see how two goals against Hungary and a header against Wales lands you into the team of the tournament, especially when you were very poor other than that.

But to each his own, it was a genuinely honest question.

Payet shouldn't be in this team only for that tackle ffs

Boateng shouldn't be in there but it had to be one of him, Ramos or Pique so meh

Boateng deserved to be in there. Handball aside, he was absolutely terrific. Almost a one man defense at certain times.

I know it was just two and a half matches, but Gomez, FFS.

Payet wins Uefa player of the tournament.

Thought Koscielny was better than Boateng. But the official team is spot on
