Yh Pepe has carried this Portugal team defensively in the Euro particularly in the last 2 games. Renato has been a breath of fresh air for them too

Portugal is not a great team, but they do try very hard. I respect that.

Anyone who doesn't mention RENATO SANHCS is a petty hater. Kid carried the whole Portugal play and attack the first half one on his own and then equalized. Euro QF at 18 years old.

Yeah, the footballing difference between him starting and Andre Gomes starting is day and night and Andre Gomes ain't no scrublord. I would definitely put him in the list...after Pepe, Nani and Ronaldo.

Find it ironic that the team who haven't lost a match inside 120 minutes all tournament went out to the team who hasn't won a match in 90 minutes all tournament.

A cruel irony, that, but that's something for Poland to be immensely proud of. A much better showing from them than 2012.

As for performances of players Ronaldo has been absolutely awful. Hasn't had one semi-decent 10 minute spell (let alone a full game) in the entire tournament.

In like what, 5 games he's scored 2 goals (against Hungary) and has taken like 50 shots. Portugal has been scraping by on defense and midfield more than anything, and people name Ronaldo as Portugal's best player? How does that make any sort of sense, when the team isn't scoring you guys name a forward? I don't agree in anyway.

Ronaldo wasn't any good in this match, missed two great chances, even missed the ball in both, lulz. It's a waste to play him up top, too. By far the team's best player, but hardly sees the ball, because plays up top. Also the endless crossing to Ronaldo, that was so funny. Yes, he's good in the air, but using an elite player like him as target man, that is such a fail approach.

Poland have only themselves to blame. The first team that made Portugal look dominant. I don't know was it fatigue (they looked tired af) or lack of skill or lack of tactics, but Poland never got out of second gear. They only looked good in attack occasionally when the Portuguese full-backs got destroyed far too easily.

If Belgium don't up their game, the team from this side of the bracket are going to get destroyed in the final.

It's really just Ronaldo carrying the team. The other players do a decent job but they do so because Ronaldo directs every move of his team like a true Kommander should do.

@Mole, read windkick's post above and tell me if the expectations argument (in that other thread) applies here.

Windkick seems to actually watch games, which puts him in the top 1% in terms of general football fan knowledge. The majority just follow the scores and watch the highlights and assuming Ronaldo is carrying this team.

So basically we all belong to the one percent then.
