What are you a fan of? And why did you think Battleborn "looked absolutely SHITE"? The Battleborn beta ended yesterday, and I'm already missing it. The amount of variety in the different characters made that game so damn entertaining to play.

If you had played Mafia 1 or 2 you would know that neither one is nothing like GTA lol.

Besides no one played Mafia for how it played but because of the story, aside from RPGs nothing comes close in the open world genre.

looks like the recent Max Payne, just open world with an LA Noire aesthetic. Previous Mafia games looked horrendous though. This looks like a step up. Will get it for free on PS+ in 2 years

We base games on how they look alone now

never heard Mafia praised for it's story elements. Never heard anyone praise it very highly in general.

That's like exactly what it's known for Not hipster at all.

Sleeping Dogs was 10x better than Mafia 2. Better in literally everything, from story to gameplay. The first Mafia was great though for its time.

GTA 4s story was the definition of a *bleep* anyway as was GTA 5 lol , only issue with Mafia 2s story was it was too short.

I won't argue the Sleeping Dogs thing though as I have never played it and never will.

It's probably overrated just like Shadow of Mordor though (:

I liked a lot of things about Sleeping Dogs. I especially loved the setting of the game. I would go as far as to say that certain things in Sleeping Dogs are simply brilliant. Overall, though, the game just doesn't provide the same level of quality and polish as GTA, for instance. But yeah, I do think Sleeping Dogs is a good game.

Mafia 2 story was disjointed and oddly paced. Brb covering years passed in montage. Brb jumping from one story to another.

GTA 4's narratives were all really well done as was the intertwining storylines of the trio in GTA 5. Far more enjoyable. Also all six of the characters are miles better than Vito Scaletta.

The first Mafia was a classic though. Now that was an amazing storyline.

Only game they ever made which wasn't disjointed as *bleep* was Red Dead, disjointed is the very word to describe their games actually.

Especially GTA 5 One of the main reasons I hope the new Red Dead doesn't have 3 main characters is because of that game, none of it flowed at all or made any sense not to mention two of them were boring AF anyway.

Who's been overrating it? I think a lot of people praise it because it really was a quality game, despite the lack of attention it got when it was released. It came out around the same time that GTA 4 or 5 was released, so it didn't acheive as much mainstream success as it probably had deserved.

The timing of it's release effectively killed the opportunity to directly compete with GTA, or becoming an established franchise. Nowadays, it only has a cult following that are waiting for a sequel that probably won't ever happen

Sleeping Dogs was released in August 2012. Nowhere near any GTA game. It sold like 2 million overall and was praised by critics and fans alike unlike Mafia 2. Its not overrated at all Great Hipster doing what he does best (:

Also the only thing I have seen reviewers criticise about Mafia 2 was the world being lifeless and empty which is a fair criticism.

Most reviewers praised it's story and accurate portrayal of the setting and time it was designed around, that is literally the reason to play the Mafia games.

If it didn't have that it would be bang average at best lol.
