Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
I'm really struggling to find a top attacker they produced after Del Piero. What is happening? It's been too long.
Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
You could also ask who was their last top class defender

You could ask the same about a number of nations, really. There's a lack of world-class strikers at the moment, imo. Like, Pedro is the most capped forward in the Spain team, lmao.

Dont know what you're laughing about.
They still have defenders better than most NT's.

I would argue Toni had a world class run from 2005-08.

Not really. Torres and villa were last generation. Spain still have world class attacking midfielders like Silva and Iniesta. Top class like mata.
Wingers, attacking midfielders and strikers... All those areas combined Who was the last world class player Italy produced?
Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
No one, if last world class "player" then Veratti, but in attacking area there is zero. Berardi might have potential to be

Italy? No they don't lmao.
Brazil has the best defenders, Germany has great defenders, Spain has great defenders too, France has fantastic defenders.

Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
Italy has better defenders than Spain certainly lol.
Nothing outrageous with what S said. They are top 3-5 in defenders. What's worrying is lack of promising CBs.

Firstly,i mentioned most teams not all teams.
Secondly,Italy still have great defenders in today's standards.Better than clowns like Boateng and Hummels.

Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
Who cares? It's a team sport. And regarding defense,
Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini as a whole is the best NT defense in the world imo.
How many world class defensive players does Atletico have? That doesn't stop them to have a ridiculous good defensive game.

Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
Luca Toni and Di Natale aren't world class.. Never have been and never were in contention either.
The problem is that it's not even about strikers... Some one who can do something in final third , there are no top Italian players. None. Best Italian attacker won't even start at spurs.
There is something wrong with the youth set up. Years of serie a coaches alienating youngsters finally showing I guess.

I think it's more down to a cycle being finished tbh. Same thing happening with the Dutch. Italy will produce great players again.

I'm not a huge fan of our current crop of defenders . but Varane , Zouma , and Kos are pretty good by today's standards .

Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
I imagine for Del Piero , Adit means also Totti . they are in same period. And for me Totti was better than him.
Toni was better than Di Natale for me , Di Natale is king of provincia, Toni was great also in Bayern Monaco. And for me a player who scores 30 goals in Serie A ( the most difficult league to score ) is a top.
Anyway , Italy hasn't produced world class attacker in last 10 years.
Giuseppe Rossi could be so , but the injures have destroyed him totally.
Balotelli had to be him , but he converted in fraud.
Causing a generational gap.
Just watching who will be the next Italian CFs to Euro. I mean, I am hoping we call Pavoletti . lol .

Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
Maybe SES ?
In defense there is some hope with Romagnoli, Rugani and MDS.
As for the Euro, the midfield looks set with Verratti, Marchisio and De Rossi. The forward line is a problem

He's a fraud , still living for hype since 2013. Not worthy of half Berardi atm

Yes he is a winger, Sassuolo plays with 4-3-3 , atm he is typical player for that system

Re: Who was the last world class attacker Italy produced?
Insigne, Berardiand Gabbi are the only ones really who should be kept an eye on. But, i doubt all of them will be WC. I'm kinda confused why Vazquez and Bonaventura aren't utilized more often, certainly they'd warrant a few games here and there, instead, its been Zaza---Pelle lol
Also, forgot about Bernardeschi, could turn out into a gem, despite being in Antonelli's back pocket last game
