I gotta say, I was skeptical, but he is doing well.

1 loss in 31 games and a 68% win percentage = "stat-padding"

Re: Guus Hiddink
Also, what do we make of the rumour that Guus is happy to use Bertrand Traore and Pato as Costa's back up?
I think the goal from Traore today certainly helps that idea. It could be dangerous, but it could also pay off. I mean, Remy and Falcao do not have any form anyway.

Can they possibly be any worse than the aforementioned Duo of Disastrousness? Unlikely. So in that respect, I'm happy with it.

Re: Guus Hiddink
Stat padder gets what he wants, another unbeaten game.
Unambitious line up, tried to go for it last 15 minutes.
YEAH NICE ONE YOU *bleep*.
Can't wait for this season to be over and he leaves.

Re: Guus Hiddink
It was slightly bemusing why he didn't start Hazard from the off. He's not been on fire this season obviously, but you'd have thought he'd be eager to give him the soonest possible opportunity to kick on and build on his first goal of the season scored against Dons a few days ago. That we vastly improved once he came on is proof of the stupidity of the decision as well. Just odd.

Re: Guus Hiddink
He has done very well.
Considering we now have a chance of top 6 and maybe even top 4.
That was next to impossible when he took over.

Re: Guus Hiddink
Indeed. It's been a remarkable turnaround.
Although it's obviously easy to say in hindsight, if Abramovich had applied the same standard as he always had in the past and gotten shot of the Portuguese disaster even as little as 4 or 5 weeks earlier, we'd be well on track for Top 4 right now.

So, so true.
Shame, but we've made this bed, now we have to sleep in it.

Re: Guus Hiddink
Yes we do. I'm a little pessimistic about Top 4, but if all our rivals continue their abjectness and we keep up our good form, who knows?

Re: Guus Hiddink
I don't think we'll make top 4, either, but top 6 isn't out of the question, as long as we continue this run.

Re: Guus Hiddink
And on the day Mourinho was sacked, anyone you could ask would more than gladly have snatched your hand off for Europa League qualification if offered it.

Very much so.
For a while, I would have gladly taken the top half.

Same Shows just the degree of improvement Guus has ushered in.
Even for all his failures in the last half-decade or so, something about him and Chelsea just seems to work.

Yes Would Juande have been able to equal these results these last 3 months? Doubt it.

I very much doubt it!
He has also done so with a somewhat depleted squad.

Re: Guus Hiddink
And with just about zero actual investment in the Winter. If you'd told anybody in December we'd be fighting for European places by early March with ZERO January transfers they'd have lol'ed

Re: Guus Hiddink
How woeful was our winter window? Pato and Miazga will be lucky to get 5 games between them this season.
Only bright side was Ramires's sale.

Re: Guus Hiddink
Pretty bad, yea. Which makes our form all the more impressive. And especially so of late, considering our 2 starting center-backs are out injured.
