How will Arsenal cope without Cazorla-Coquelin
In how much trouble are Arsenal?
Much debate in summer, like every summer, about Arsenal's transfer activities or lack thereof.
Everybody pointed to the glaring fact there is no cover for Coquelin (some Arsenal's fans were still demanding an upgrade, while others felt cover/competition would suffice), since both Arteta and Flamini are past it, in the case of Arteta also permainjury himself AND a different type player who can't perform Coquelin's job anyway.
Wenger didn't bring anyone in. Fine. What could possibbly happen.
Wenger then settled on a central midfield pairing of Coquelin-Cazorla this season, which worked very well.
Now both of them are out for probably more than 3 months.
Sounds to me like Arsenal are severely *bleep* tbh.
I thought they could win the league this year, but without that central pairing, and without reliably fit quality CMs there to play instead, there's no telling how far they could sink from hereon out.
Also, is this the most reckless negligence in squad planning among top clubs in Europe?

I preferred the fist title.
Arsenal have something like 6 or 7 injured players and only one of them isn't a midfielder

Jumping ship are you? I thought you were a believer
Wenger will surely sign a defensive midfielder/deep-lying playmaker who can create a partnership with Ramsey in a 4231.
But then I wouldn't bet on it, no doubt we will hear about Wilshere being like a new 'signing', Rosicky returning from death, and Wenger being unable to sign anyone better than our already available options because of our 'fantastic squad'.

I am a believer.
That said I wasn't disagreeing that it was beyond risky not getting a cover for Coquelin, while I felt Coquelin was good enough to start.
And now both him and Cazorla out with long term injuries is precisely the worst case version of the scenario that was not allowed to happen.

Re: In how much trouble are Arsenal?
The problem is, teams around us are as shite if not more
The fact that Leicester are leading the league, and the only team to have more than 2 points per game, sums it up pretty well.
----
I think we'll still be in the Top 3, as a consequence. I don't see us getting past Olympiacos though.
BTW, your voting options are not MECE (mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive).

Eeyore is one of my favorite characters actually, he's so well written and has multiple layers and depth to his character, on par with Quiet imo

Re: In how much trouble are Arsenal?
When's Wilshere coming back anyway? Or is he? LOL
That lad's fitness is as big a joke as Sturridge's.
I think Arsenal can get away with playing Flamini or Arteta, if they could play two skillful CMs with them. A Ramsey-Flamini-Wilshere midfield shouldn't be too bad. But they're unlucky that both Cazorla and Wilshere are injured.

Re: In how much trouble are Arsenal?
I don't think they are in much trouble to be honest. No disrespect to the PL, but there's nobody rising above the rest so to speak. It's pretty tight and all of them are struggling on different levels.
I do believe though that an all-fit Arsenal has a pretty good chance of winning the league. If Wenger can somehow still win until everybody comes back, the PL trophy will likely end up in the red side of London.
