Scratch the previous, he only has the record of most penalties taken in La Liga, 72. The 84 was in all leagues he played. Previous record holder for most penalties taken was Hugo Sanchez, Refdrid player obviously.

Just seen a statistics, Ronaldo scored 10% of his total career goal from penalties. Usually Ronaldo is good penalty taker, he uses skill and power to score penalties where Messi try to out fox goalkeeper rather than using skill.

Ronaldo: Took 130 Penalties Missed 23 Conversion rate 82.31%
So overall Messi just missed one more than Ronaldo.
