Re: The Walking Dead III
Holy shit that was a great episode.
Carol that assassin's creed getup, dem skills.
Morgan has left I think. Never thought he would stick around (no pun intended) but I guess this isn't for him. That symbolism at the end was great with him and Carol.
Surprised episode was this good without Rick n co though tbh.
Those wolves guys are crazy. but I agree with Maravilla, they didn't seem to have a leader. And that guy saying "we don't have a choice". Surely there is something bigger out there. Now that they know the place and everything. Bigger war lies ahead.
Next episode should be intense as well with the walker horde coming towards Alexandria.
Great start to the season so far.

Re: The Walking Dead III
I liked the episode, although I was a little disappointed that a) the whole episode was only that Wolves attack and nothing else and b) it wasn't that versatile, basically just Carol and Morgan killing random W's in a handful of scenes. I would have liked something more elaborate since the whole episode really was just this one thing.
Also, if you want to get into technicalities, for Rick & co. & the zombies to hear the truck's horn so loud and clear, they should have been close enough to make it to the camp during the run of this episode.
Why did the teenage girl seemingly run away from the camp? Leaving that note behind for Coral. Why did she think she'd be better off ( perhaps with Ron) on the outside? How is she going to re-appear? (for she surely is).
Anyway, I enjoyed the episode and it continues to have the season's action-gear on high, but as the episode ended I felt like not that much had happened and was also left wanting for an explanation for the Wolves's seemingly very unplanned assault.

You ask too many questions Morte.
Probably one of the best Rickless episodes this show has ever had.

Took lots of chances then.
I can imagine lots of options better than letting all those zombies run around freely. Why not put everyone on top of the trucks for a week and kill them with spears? They were a week building a fence they could have spent killing zombies.
If they can't reach you it's basically a mechanical job, and you could kill at least 5 zombies/minute, 300 zombies/hour or 2.400 a day. Put everyone at work and you clear it in a couple of days.
That truck was falling any second Rick made the point himself, imagine adding more weight on top of it.

Was bored during the episode until that smoking lady got slashed by axe out of nowhere then it got fun. Really happy to see Rambo Carol back.
And I don't for the life of me understand why they give screen time to stupid kids. What was the whole wasting 5 minutes at the beginning following that stupid girl around. Just kill her off, she ain't interesting enough. And then that idiot emo kid just puts the cherry on top.
It's enough having to deal with Carl every season

Was thinking that too.
Can only assume that girl is someone important. Like a spy for someone. Eating dat turtle though ffs.
When that guy first started hacking the woman when Carol was watching. I thought she is dreaming about her abusive husband It came out of nowhere.

Re: The Walking Dead III
Like I said, the girl is definitely going to re-appear. I mean, I got the impression from the note that she ran away and they would never have given her all this screen time if she wasn't going to do something more significant than what she's done so far - which is nothing.
Maybe she'll be taken hostage by the Wolves and that leads to Coral effing up somehow when trying to save her?
That would be a bit cringe, though. Better if she just betrayed Alexandria one way or another.
Btw, I like Coral, I don't mind him getting screen time. These other kids have been a bore, though.

Re: The Walking Dead III
Did imagine it or did one of the wolves recognize Father Gabriel?
He said something along the lines of "you are still alive" when he was about to kill him and Morgan saved him.
Could Gabriel be fooling us and actually be something more.

Interesting, I missed that
I suppose it would just mean that some of the Wolves are those people who Gabriel refused to let in his church.

Gabby is just on for comic relief now.
Kirkman said Carl is the ONLY off-limit character. Rick and Michonne can be killed before him.
I wonder if they will re-cast carl though.

Re: The Walking Dead III
Why is Carl off limit?
His character in the show is faaaar from great or interesting. So what he's been with the group since the beginning.
Is he the main protagonist in the comics?

Re: The Walking Dead III
No idea. I haven't read since the Alexandria arc but he is much better presented in the comics earlier on and someone you think is quite important.
Didn't come across the show well enough since the cast is 5 times bigger in the show.
I guess we'll find out eventually since I've heard shit goes down hard on Grimes family. Which is why I am wondering if they will recast Carl. Doubt it though.

Re: The Walking Dead III
It's strange to make Coral the only off-limits character. If he was younger I'd understand that maybe they wouldn't want to kill too young a child on-screen (like, I don't think anything will happen to Rick's baby), but killing a, what 16? year-old teenager is all right. Maybe they have big plans for him, I don't know.

I thought he'd said it to Morgan but I'd need to go back and check. Would make more sense for Morgan since he beat the crap out of some Wolves last season.
But it can't be anything to do with Gabriel's church since the group had already traveled so far to get to Alexandria, no?

Re: The Walking Dead III
Rewatch it, it was definitely to Gabriel as Morgan was still with Carol (who at that point had him 'fakely' chained up to get to the armory). Morgan gets there at the last second to save him.

Just spitballing here but maybe the Wolf dude was making a point about a practicing priest in the apocalypse.

I think it could be "Gabriel's people", too. If Rick's group has traveled that far, why couldn't others. Not that I think there's anything brewing there, just a detail.

Considering how far they traveled, I feel that's too much of a reach. Plus, that Gabriel sub-arc about not letting people into the church wasn't interesting enough to carry on past where they ended it imo.

Re: The Walking Dead III
There's no way that Glen is dead.
It was cheap and stupid for them to pretend it was Glenn and not Nicholas getting eaten up. Up until that moment I thought it was a pretty good scene because I wasn't sure what former asshole Nicholas was gonna do. But to try to play it off like omg, Glenn's dead ruined it for me.
Anyways, it's been a pretty good start to the season considering my expectations.
