Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
We got absolutely dominated in the first half, it was pathetic. We genuinely struggle to string 3 passes together against mediocre opposition, we look harmless in attack and our defence is making idiotic judgement calls and mistakes.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
RED CARDS happen,
I have no problem with RED CARDS
what I am uncomfortable with is that HERNANES was never accepted as a Juventus player from the fans because some reasons and as soon as this guy makes a mistake everyone be like:
" I KNEW HE IS NOT GOOD "
" I KNEW HE IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY "
" we lost the game because of that RED-CARD "
the RED-CARD was never a problem,
for the first 45 minutes players could not string 3 passes together, and that is not how you win the game
when you play such a terrible game sure there will be yellow cards, red cards, penalties

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
It's no wonder why
Midfield links the defense and attack and can cover up weaknesses in both
What we have:
1 world class midfielder in Marchisio
1 under-performing wonder kid in Pogba
1 broken Khedira
several depth players that are good for rotational purposes
(talking central midfielders so Cuadrado does not apply here)

I do agree with you guys Luca and Tom, the team basically lacks chemistry. Allegri is trying to create something new with those youngsters. I think that we can see how vidal was effective last year even though he didn't have lots of touches.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
I think Pogba is coming along really well now tbh... picking up a lot of form. He just doesn't have Tevez to lean on who would fall back from the front... so the spacing between attack and midfield is too big so he's been trying to do too much. In a perfect role, you'd want Dybala to play that role. But Dybala isn't good at that at this point.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
The performance was dire to be honest.
We were lucky to get out of that match with a draw, with or without the red. The way we constantly gave possession away through holding on to the ball or running into walls or wasted it completely was embarrassing. I could go on and on with how wasteful we were.
The best moment of the match was Lichts goal, and I wouldn't have celebrated it half as much as I would have normally if he hadn't just come back from heart surgery. It's actually incredible if you stop and think about it. Guys a legend.
The Germans just wanted it more than us from the get go. Their pressing, although not hugely impressive caused us massive problems. We couldn't pass our way forward through the middle to save our lives lol.
Our play is really slow and predictable

Pogba was the only light in the dark as he clearly has way to much pressure but seems more and more capable of handling it.
I think Allegri is really on the edge and Lippi is lurking

I don't know why you guys are saying we played bad, near the end of the first half and until Hernanes got red carded, we were actually playing well. I do agree that the team needs a bit more chemistry, and hopefully it will come soon.

The 30odd minutes before that we got absolutely dominated by a team that's supposedly inferior to us. We have no gameplan, no Chemistry and a pretty shit attack.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
Too many individuals, there is only one ball on the field. We've seen so much selfishness this year that we haven't seen in previous years.
It looks like you have several players who think they're better than everyone else, at times.
This season is looking more and more disappointing. I see some promising pieces there, but not a finished product, not a complete team by any stretch.
In hindsight, we could re-visit the summer market. Forget the departures, let's pretend, for arguments sake, that they were all inevitable. The players brought in were handpicked and, if this is the result, someone *bleep* up
This team is screaming for a midfielder of real top quality (possibly two if you do not count on Khedira)
Cuadrado, Sandro and even Dybala are pieces that even last year's Juventus could have improved from. A midfielder like Lemina does stand out too. The rest, not so much.
It's a start, just not nearly enough

We don't have any chance to win anything this season...CL qualify spot would be our title this year.
If we don't play CL next season it will be a disaster.I can see a few overpriced January signigs in panic.
All we needed was a top playmaker, what we need now is much more.

We'll easily finish in a CL spot, I don't see this bad form lasting much longer. Things have improved tenfold from match day 1.
The title isn't impossible either but I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm not sure I would go that far
Defense looks better obviously, but creating chances has not improved
Whenever Juventus concedes first I cringe, I never feel like they'll do anything better than a draw from that point forward. It's discouraging. They certainly look better than they did on matchday 1, but they are not in the top 3 in Italy right now for a reason.
With the point differential already, we would really need to see them pick up form and others fall off

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
when players become +30 years old is time to surrender on them unless someone is extreme talented and you want to keep for LEADERSHIP such as BUFFON, MALDINI, PIRLO, NEDVED, DEL PIERO
however, you don't want too many of that because you want to compensate for STAMINA and INTENSITY of the team
this is the reason why INTER dropped from the TOP to the bottom, because players was getting old and the transition took them too long so they was hopeless for so many years
I love the fact that JUVENTUS has reacted a little bit faster to the transition; bringing some U22 players + CUADRADO and ALEX SANDRO
you need to understand that there is a time that the club should surrender on players before it gets too late; and a good example for that is MANCHESTER UNITED who kicked out players like VIDIC, EVRA, as soon as they became +30 years old; did not extend the contracts or whatsoever
JUVENTUS should focus on the transition and sacrifice has to be made, we have to experiment with players such as RUGANI, LEMINA, STURARO,
because soon we have to surrender on players such as EVRA, CHIELLINI, BARZAGLI, LICHTAINER, MARCHISIO
and than there will be even more serious problems
than the situation will be even worse than today

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
16:46 - COMPLETED TRAINING - Juventus have finished your training before the match against Manchester City. They took part in today's meeting is that Evra Caceres, at this point the French is a candidate for a jersey holder. It was not, however, in the group with fellow Lemina. Massimiliano Allegri in the coming hours will decide whether to rely on the 3-5-2 or 4-3-3. In attack should return Morata, if trident with him there will Cuadrado and Mandzukic, if instead, Allegri will choose the two points, along with Spanish play Dybala.
15:16 - TRAINING IN PROGRESS - Juventus is in the field for training for the match against Manchester City. They are training with his teammates also Caceres and Evra, while Pereyra and Padoin are working separately. In the current session Massimiliano Allegri melt the last doubts of formation. In fact, the coach from Livorno will decide whether, against the English, will field the 3-5-2 or 4-3-3. Tomorrow, certainly will miss Khedira and Hernanes. The number 6 will be replaced by Juventus Sturaro that play with Pogba and Marchisio. Juventus, through its official Twitter profile, shared some pictures of the training course in: "Under a pale sun, the Bianconeri are in the field for the final training session on the eve of #JuveCity. Https://t.co / 0RfEzH4G7q, "wrote the Juventus who also posted a photo of Allegri's team in the field in Vinovo.
===
I love how Sturaro is being used in the big games He does so well in these games like vs RM last year and Man City in the first leg.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
“I have four players available in attack, I think two will play. We could have three at the back, we could use Juan Cuadrado wide, I have not yet decided. We have the option to play with three in defence or four.
“I am not worried by a trial by media if I don’t play Dybala. I am worried about all the praise for a 21-year-old who is doing well, but needs to be given the time and space to grow calmly. At his age he cannot have all the responsibility for Juventus success on his shoulders.
“Mario Mandzukic will score his tally of goals by the end of the season. At the moment Dybala is on strong form, but a striker tends to have highs and lows during a campaign.”
===
So I think that we will see a 352 formation being used with morata and mandzukic upfront. Cuadrado on the right wing.

17:05 - ballot EVRA - ALEX SANDRO - Juventus finished the afternoon rest for the match against Manchester City. Soon the team will make the technical meeting. Massimiliano Allegri should rely on the 3-5-2: Buffon will be in port. They will play in defense Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini. In midfield, on the right we will move Cuadrado, in between there will be Sturaro, Marchisio and Pogba, on the left when Evra appears favorite Alex Sandro. In attack should play Morata and Dybala.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
I would start Lemina instead of Sturaro as he is more safe on passes.
As for LB I would like to see Sandro come on second half and get more than just those final minutes.
Pretty much that's the best and safer formation we can field atm.Hope Allegri doesn't make some pointless moves.
