Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
i like that hybrid 442
--------- fw --- fw ------
------------ am --------- rw
-------- cm --- cm ----------
lb ----- cb ----- cb ------ rb
on this formation you have LFW, RW you can use on counter attacks same as 4231, you can also use Pogba sometimes on the left, to compensate for left wing stamina
this is really cool if you think about it and don't worry for that 3 men in the back idea because one of the side backs can step forwards if necessary but normally when you play against top clubs you should have 4 in the back
we have experienced line back
we have good center-midfield
we have players who can run wide
we have players who can go for headers
so this is something really cool, because when you select a team and formation you should aim to compensate for the weakness of the formation
442 with wide men doesnt have enough strength in center midfield 442 diamond with 3xcm doesnt have wings, all formations have their weakness
but when you have players like morata, pogba, cuadrado, with lots of stamina you compensate for that weakness

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
17:34 - THE RISE IN PRICES OF ALEX SANDRO - Juventus is completing the technical meeting, in which Allegri is unraveling the last doubts of formation. The coach from Livorno should have chosen the 4-3-3: Buffon's up to the goal. In defense the space bands Lichtsteiner and Evra, amid play the titolarissimi Barzagli and Bonucci. In midfield in the control room will move Hernanes to his sides instead there will Khedira and Pogba. In attack we are moving towards the exclusion of Mandzukic and the inclusion of Alex Sandro with Cuadrado and Morata. In the Brazilian season has already served as a striker in the trident in the Turin derby win thanks to the goals of the number 16 Juventus 93 '. Mandzukic will start therefore from the bench.
Juventus (4-3-3): Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Evra; Khedira, Hernanes, Pogba; Cuadrado, Morata, Alex Sandro.
====
Injuries This is bad... Too many injuries...

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
the goal should not be one formation
but selection of the players which gives you all the qualities you need to win the games
there are situations you need more men in the line back to block the long balls and headers
so you have cuadrado you can use as a rb , you have khedira you can use as an extra cb
you have a line back like
evra , barzali, bonuci, khedira, licht, cuadrado
6 men in the line back blocking long balls
so i dont really take the first formation as extreme important
i think its important to have a selection of players that you can compensate for everything you need

True... Lots of bad decisions...Many fouls going their way. Which disallowed goal Marrota is talking about did I miss it!?
Nevermind, it was the lob on Neuer...

So heartbreaking
So close.
At least we went out proud.
What top 5? top 3 or at worst 4 (with atleti). Tonight we would have beat anyone not named Bayern or Barca.

in ucl only those who want the referee will win it
i used to love this tournament today i dont care about it
10x fouls against you can knock you out there
if that doesn't do it, they disallow your goAls or give you red cards
ask morinho he tells you whats wrong there

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
Even though I decided that I would stop posting here I had to drop by to say that I couldn't be prouder for our team. Others don't get it what it means and how it feels to be a Juventino so I won't get into that, they are simply ignorant.
Last night's performance made me realise how much we've grown as a club. 10 years ago we went through a disaster that would destroy any other club not named Juventus, but we've made it through, and we are getting stronger with each passing season.
There couldn't be a more fitting moto for our club, Fino alla Fine, forza Juventus!

A healthy Lemina and Asamoah could contribute in upping our game even more. Especially the former.

Fantastic effort. Pity that not both teams could go through - but then Juve shot themselves into the knee when they didn't defeat Sevilla in the last group match.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
The last thing I want to do is offend the incredible fans of the great Juventus on GL. I think your team has done enough to earn, not just your respect, but the respect of every football fan around the globe. You rose from the ashes to become a European heavyweight, if that's not admirable, I don't know what is...
However, I strongly, and I truly mean strongly, disagree with the way you've handled your team's defeat. I thought you'd be seething with anger over it, instead I was welcomed with an alarming and discouraging acceptance of a fate that doesn't rhyme with Juventus' strength and ambitions.
You're proud of your team, which is understandable. You're not sore losers, which is admirable. But your pride should be standing shoulder to shoulder with restless anger and soul-crushing disappointment.
I would understand your reaction if Bayern was unplayable. I would understand your reaction if you were inferior or unlucky. I would understand your reaction if your gameplan was flawless, your subs made sense and there was absolutely nothing to improve on. But nothing of the sort was even remotely close to reality last night.
You should be angry because the victory was flirting at your doorsteps. And had you stuck to your original gameplan, you would've won the tie. Bayern didn't win last night because they found Jesus in the second half, they won because you let them. You stopped the pressing, made a mess with your subs, and retreated to your own box. Bayern couldn't believe it. They were given a silver lining. They were given time, space and hope. It was just a matter of time before you conceded. That was a colossal tactical blunder.
Yes, you should be proud of your team. But you should also be disappointed you lost to a slightly inferior team.
And let me repeat it again, the last thing I want to do is offend the great family of Juventus. But dammit, every time I see a world class team parking the bus, something dies inside me. I know the feeling, cause we were at some point coached by a man named Rafa.
You should be proud of yourselves, for everything you've accomplished. But you should be disappointed and angry even more. You deserved to lose last night - not because your opponent was better, but because you had done everything right up until the moment you were preparing yourselves to put the last nail on Bayern's coffin...but instead you put it on yours.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
Juve are not superior to Bayern... come on now. Juve's tactics were very pragmatic and they almost worked. Juve players were very disciplined for the most part and were breached when fatigue set in and the subs failed. But in the end, the team that attacked the most by far ended up winning the tie.
Bayern played the tie with literally no defenders... all their fullbacks and center backs were out injured or suspended. That isn't going to be the case in the next round.

Do you really believe it was fatigue? The same players ran like crazy men in the extra time ffs more than any BM fresh player. The tactics were wrong. On the other note I won't comment because no one will agree.

Yeah Evra specifically... he just ran out of gas. He couldn't get anything on his clearances and he started being a step slow mentally and physically. He was fantastic through 75 mins though. That impacted everyone. He should have been subbed or tactics should have changed to make him less central.
Of course, without Morata's speed to worry about, Bayern could play even higher too... all Juve's subs hurt.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
Nothing bad about being of proud of your team when they put out that display Carthage. Learn and improve, that what you gotta hope the team does. Bayern's squad is ridiculous. Their bench is world class. Juve's teamplay elevates them to that level, but our squad isn't as deep. We had a 2-2 draw in the first leg, lost 4 key players before the game and then went to Munich to push them to the limit.
How can we not be proud?
The time to be mad was after the first leg (and I was). That's when the tie was lost, not last night. If Juve played every away game like they just did then we'd be in the CL final more often than not. 2-2 in Turin was unacceptable. 2-2 in Munich is good enough.
With a full team it'd likely be a different story. A fit Mandzukic. Evra would have been subbed by Sandro as is usually the case. Marchisio and Dybala are the pillars of our season. And so on.
Bayern has Gotze, Ribbery, Thiago on the bench. We don't have that depth.

Re: Champions League campaign 2015/2016
About the match itself, you can't mantain that level for 90 (worse even 120) minutes.
There's a reason neither Bayern nor Juve could put the other team down for the whole match. The level is too similar. You had either team going full blast and dominating half the match in both games. Its not that Allegri or Guardiola suddenly forgot how to coach, its that the teams couldn't maintain it. When Bayern gave it all (1st half of the 1st leg and 2nd half of the 2nd leg) Juve couldn't find the way. Same for Bayern when Juve went all out (2nd half of the 1st leg and 1st half of the 2nd leg).
Closing a game is a fundamental tactic in football. Its extremely useful and neglecting to use it because of some principle makes no sense. Allegri did it perfectly last season against Dortmund, Monaco and Madrid at the proper points of the game and once Juve went 3-5-2 no one could even create a chance. Its amazing to watch.
Had Chiellini or Caceres been available Juve would have closed shop and thats game over. No point in having some misplaced all-out attack pride. Know your team and exploit every aspect of the game.
