It always amazes me that on nearly every forum and news sites, EPL teams are rated to easily breeze through to the final stages of the CL. Then when they start falling by the wayside, there is murmuring and consternation in the English press about what went wrong.

Juventus have constantly been paired in difficult groups while Barcelona has been constantly paired in the easiest groups!

Not are fault we can't land GOAT Liga teams, but we did have PSG, Ajax last year. Milan, Ajax the year before names that are big enough, not like what United and Chelsea get, not the mentioned we get difficult opponents in the KO around almost all the time, City, PSG, Arsenal, Bayern, Madrid, Atleti and so forth.

I'm considering a 'Arsenal won't get past group stage' bet tbh

It's all about humility. Scroll a little bit up, you'll chance upon a very humble Juventus fan skeptical about his side's chances of advancing to the knockout rounds. Now, even though we all know they'll most likely advance, you can't help but admire the humility laid therein.
Meanwhile, there are many members here whose clubs, with all due respect to them, haven't done anything even remotely impressive in recent years, yet surprisingly enough, that undeniable fact doesn't seem to impede them from bragging and being overly confident of breezing through teams all the way to the final. It's all about humility.

@Robespiere
Well, hw suarez and cr7 finished above neymar in the first place is beyond everyone. The fact suarez missed the first 2 months and barca did very fantastic being 4 points above madrid in 1st place with messi and neymar killing it as the best duo on planet and topping the Cl groups rules him (suarez) out tbh, at least no way above neymar, not to mention that suarez played through the middle and neymar still outscored him (aside all his goals b4 suarez debute by 31-25 yet..)
Anyway, nothing new here, its what the award has become.. But as long as messi wins, i'm okay with it.

Always amazes me how people who are not fans of the PL always find ways to make things up to drive their agenda irrelevant of facts.
Way to go there champ.

You want to make the Group D thread? But only if you don't forget to add one or the other nice pic of Yann Sommer

Barca to toy with our defense obviously. Leverkusen have a great record at home against Italian sides so I think that's a tricky trip too. Even BATE isn't a sure bet as we don't do well against those Eastern European sides away from home.
Rough group, but if Rudi gets us back to the 13/14 basics, I think we can make noise here and turn heads.

I mean it's kind of true. Remember when England drew USA and Slovakia or Slovenia etc in the world cup and the day after the dray the headline was "EASY" spelling out the teams names.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Always amazes me how people who are not fans of the PL always find ways to make things up to drive their agenda irrelevant of facts.breva wrote:It always amazes me that on nearly every forum and news sites, EPL teams are rated to easily breeze through to the final stages of the CL. I mean of all countries England shouldn't be thinking any game is easy in a international tournament.
IMO it's more the papers fault.

Re: Champions League Draw 2015/16: Group Stage
Why is it that clubs typically draw against clubs of which they've bought a high-profile player during the same year? I'm not saying it's some kind of conspiracy, but the amount of coincidences in these draws has been ridiciculous for a long time now. Depay will play against his former club, Jackson Martinez will play against his former club.. and I'm sure there are other players who will meet with their former team mates, as well. I had predicted Bayern to draw against Juventus, but that didn't happen. The top teams seem to be pretty well spread this year.

Kick wrote:You scrubs, Chelsea always get an easy group, this year will be no different. We'll probably get Porto or Neverkusen, CSKA and Malmo or Astana.
City will be in the group of death, as always. Probably with either Barca or Bayern or PSG, Roma or Shakhtar and Wolfsburg.
Utd will probably get PSV, too.
While some of the names are off, Chelsea got an easy group, City got the group of death and Utd got PSV

BATE crushed us 3:1 in our 12/13 CL winning campaign. Only one of two teams to win a CL game against usMcLewis wrote:Barca to toy with our defense obviously. Honestly Chelsea and easy groups, it's hilarious how they get the easiest ride to the knockouts every year.
The one year they got a bit of a tough group (Juve and Shakhtar) they got knocked out to EL

Perhaps these quotes up thread, which struck me, were meant to be humorous, if so stand corrected. If not, you could offer an apology.
All four EPL teams should make the knockouts which will be interesting.
mule getting them excuses ready for when 4 Goat liga teams are in ko stages
Gonna be 4 GOAT PL teams as well though
City have the best team in this group on paper this year by a fair margin….. I think they'll take top spot
Can't wait until we expose the fraud that is Guardiola. Jack Wilshere to score the winning goal just to rub it in.
