Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
Epic bump.
3rd round FA Cup will be conducted very soon. We drew Bournemouth away in the rehearsal.
The knockout round draws for the Champions League and Europa League are next Monday.

We've won all 12 FA Cup games we've played since Mesut Özil joined. Why not, y0lo.
Little bit double?

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
Don't get why people are pissed off by a draw and calling it "boring".
Geez, it's a draw against a shit PL team so we'll probably win which is most important.

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
Personally, I think it's boring because we've just played Sunderland and there's only so many times I want to Allerdyce in a season. Also we won't get TV coverage, in all likelihood.
I can't complain about a home draw but nonetheless it's been a while since we've visited a a nice run-down lower league ground.

Looks like there's four all-PL pairings, no?
FA cup again shaping up to consist of lower league fodder until the latter stages

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
Very decent draw. After the Sheffield experience I'd rather play at home vs mediocre PL side tbh.

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
If, by some miracle, we get through tomorrow, here's who we can draw:
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Zenit, Wolfsburg, Porto (if they beat Chelsea)
The Europa League is a bit more complicated. Were we to drop down, our record in the CL group will determine if we're seeded for the draw. If we end up seeded, we could draw the likes of St. Etienne, Partizan, Augsburg, and Sion. If we're not seeded, then it could be Napoli, Lazio or Athletic Bilbao.

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
I'd love to face Madrid, like I wrote earlier - in the unlikely scenario that we go through.
Zenit, Porto, and Wolfsburg would be easier draws on paper - but we all know how we did against Monaco - so yeah

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
We can beat Wolfsburg from that list. Zenit is dodgy and we are probably even.
Atleti, Madrid, Barca are all better and most likely we have no chance.
Order of preference
Wolfsburg
Zenit
Madrid
Atleti
Barca

Wolfsburg rather than Zenit?
I don't think Zenit are anything special, they had a shit group and even then lost to Genk of all clubs.

Nah Zenit isn't on our level lol
It's just the trip to cold Russia I would rather not prefer. So yeah Wolfsburg before Zenit,
And Atletico before Real pls

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
Atletico would be horrible for us; a super gritty team with a strong defence, excellent from set-pieces and passionate home support. As if that doesn't just tick all the boxes for things we hate playing against.
Not that Real Madrid would be any easier to beat, but despite their talent they've got holes we can exploit. They've got a tonne of firepower but structurally aren't as good as Atleti or Barca.
Barcelona we just need to flat out avoid.
Wolfsburg and Zenit are this year's Monaco - the draw we'd want but far from easy games and ones we'd do very well to win.

Crap group doesn't wash when they won every game and rested pretty much their entire team because they were already through.
Just watch one of their CL games and you will see they are much better than Wolfsburg lol.

Re: Domestic and European Cups (15/16)
Yup, Zenit are actually really good. They sent half the team on holidays before the Gent game.
Before that, every single match they dominated (fair enough the group wasn't exactly hard)

I prefer this too. Then again, this has Barcelona plastered all over it.
Would rather play Atleti than Barca, but only because it'll be a different team for a change.
