the game was very balanced, i think that uruguay actually had the best chance to kill the match with forlan in the second half... but imo argentina shouldve done better when they had an extra man... they had the entire second half to do something about it
are you saying that it mattered? is it just me, or didnt they have one more man for more than 45 minutes? it apparently didnt matter.. so, saying that it definitely wouldve made a difference is stretching it a little too much imho.. you know, you didnt take the opportunities, you lost, you couldnt score, that is all. but dude im not the enemy, im just saying what i think about it!!

Messi is the most overrated player in this beautiful game's history.
He's also a great sulker.

Just saying.....
Ozil only scored 10 goals for real madrid, he's terrible.
Last I checked Messi is supposed to be the best player in the world (And according to most of the Barcelona fans on this forum the best ever LOL), Ozil is not
Last I checked Messi is a goal scorer, 50 goals for Barcelona last season? Ozil is not
Last I checked Ozil performes for his national team around the same level he plays anywhere else Madrid or Bremen. Messi does not.
Messi isn't fit to lick the boots of Maradona. Best in the world? At Barcelona sure I'll concede that. At international level not a chance. Best ever? Not by a country mile, guess he will have to wait another 3 years to prove himself for Argentina....

Well apparently it didn't, looking at the second half. If anything, Argentina became more dangerous again after he was send off.

Yep, he has no heart and doesn't give it his all. Sprinting for 2 hours, wearing the captains armband and leading the penalty shootout shows just how little he cares about his country and that he just sulks when he plays for Argentina.Seppuku wrote:Messi is the most overrated player in this beautiful game's history.

dunno why you put Ozil's Rmadrid career, when clearly the discussion is about Messi's int'l career.

For argentina, messi is a creater hence why he is the one creating ALL the chances argentina gets..
Basically, messi does the özil role for argentina.

Shows what you know, Messi is a goal scorer you got that right, for Barcelona. For Argentina he's a playmaker, that's why I compared them.Crimson wrote:Lionel Messi wrote:Crimson wrote:Out of Higuains 8 (16 games and alot less starts) goals for Argentina, 6 have come in competitive games.

Srsly I doubt that they even watch the game, or understand football if they are criticizing messi for not scoring for argentinga. It would be like criticizing iniesta for not scoring for barca..
Just ignore them..

Surely, Messi being ridiculously good for Barcelona does not help that case about being the same level at the NT right?

They? No, me. Messi is still the best player in the world by a country mile, and will end up one of the best players of all time, if not the best.izzy26 wrote:kiranr wrote:Lol at the density of Madrid fans in this thread!

One thing i will say is that Messi at Barca is CF , Messi at Argentina is AM.....
Beside's he's Meh for Argentina anyone that says otherwise is indenial and if one more person says Messi was good/great tonight iam going to insist that Lex takes a clip from the fitness bloke scooby vids where he facepalms with a pillow and make them into facepalm gifs.
Because they will be required.

If it wasn't for Suarez's tantrums and diving, it would be a different game, with a different result.

Re: Argentina going home...
To be fair though, this was more of a collective effort than Messi's fault, since he was awesome the first half. Pretty mediocre the second.
A collective effort by URUGUAY. Admit it, please, Uruguay was very good the second half, holding up with overall lesser players, 10 men....
Batista was a huge fail though, ridiculous substitutions. He will be sacked first thing tomorrow morning I suppose.
