Internet Gangster Alert:
LOL at the Harry Potter reference.
shinigami99 wrote:Lionel Messi why do you try to reason with those guys in the general section. They're like those mandagora drakes from harry potter; ugly, disgusting and make very stupid ampliative arguments.
They state false premises and stretch the conclusion over 9000 beyond what the premise dictates.
It's like a freaking religious debate

Quite alot actually, the difference is La Liga defences are crap LOL.
And main difference imo between the two is Pep, i would'nt underestimate the psychological effect Pep has on Messi.

against arsenal when he scored 4 goals? or against racing santander, when he came of the bench and scored 2 goals to win the game for barca? or against zaragoza when he scored a hattrick and won a penalty after a brilliant dribble. His hattrick against real madrid(we didn't win though ). That's just for his club. And you can't compare this argentina side to any of those NT. They were all superior, even denmark who could win the euro without laudrup..

Re: Argentina going home...
CLs don't count since that was with club
the 2006 world cup......really? are you really saying that he played alot? He didn't even play when we lost against Germany. The only major appearances he made was against Mexico and against a really bad Serbia and MOntenegro team
2010 he had maradona as coach.........nuff said. Plus he was argentina's best player at that competition.
Add to the fact that the Argentine Press and fans give him pressure left right and center which he can't take.<- He is not mature enough to deal with the pressure and stay calm in games.
I say we wait two more years and then pass judgement. Or at least after the next WC

Re: Argentina going home...
That's what I was wondering too. Might be l10nel_messi in the old forum, lol.Gil wrote:Who was Lionel Messi on the old forums?
Also, lol Mole, Mehssi. Though he did play well today. No where near his Barca form, of course, but he had a great first half, although was pretty meh after.
Uruguay really deserved to go through. They hardly made any mistakes except for a few in attack, which could have won them the game in the second half. Argentina should have killed the game after Uruguay went down to ten men early, but they didn't and they ended up paying.
Uruguay's defence was extremely solid. They stopped waves of attacks and Muslera, as the very last man, cleaned up any mistakes and did superbly well.
Overall, great, intense game. The penalty shootout was pretty exciting too, pretty much all the penalties were great except Pastore's and, of course, Tevez's.

Re: Argentina going home...
Argentina just did not get into the box enough because they are way too narrow upfront. Good coordinated defenses will always be successful in denying you space when you play that way.
Like i said, Argentina needs to adopt a conservative style of play and draw the opponents out instead of going for possession football when they dont have the players for it.
