Why doesn't Benzema leave Madrid?

again, which CFs have performed better since 2010-2011 in terms of scoring and assists... anyone want to take a guess?

Benz has 133 goals to date with Madrid:

So he'll get into the top 10 this season and pull ahead of Piri, Butragueno and Gento the season after. If he stuck around for 3 more seasons, he'd pull ahead of Hugo Sanchez who has 208.

Btw, i'm not saying Benz is better than those players...  Just pointing out that statements such as "Benz doesn't score enough" and "he hasn't been an elite CF" are absurd.  Has he been on the same level as R9 or Raul?  Of course not.  Who has But he's carved himself a very good niche despite being restricted with playing next to CR and now Bale and CR... and his stats are on par with Madrid legends, whether you like it or not.  These are facts, not some subjective opinion or statement.

wrong sports benzema will never do anything amazing cause, the media says he isn't intense enough, ever player other than benzema steps up and has done more cause their more popular.

I remember the days when being a cf for madrid was just about molesting barca and being tops in the cl, but when benzema started full filling those things, more and more categories keep opening up, new reasons and more angles.

even the freaking 10th wasn't good enough, why cause benz had to be the cf that lead us to it, shame .

Nobody is saying that Benz isn't an elite player. He's one of the best around. But comparing him to Cristiano is taking it to far. The latter is an all time great and has been a top 2 player for 10 years while playing in the same era with a top 5 greatest player ever. The Frenchman simply is not.

remember what you guys said and like 90% of the sheepish madrid fans around the world, benzema as a starter will never lead madrid to any trophies.

now we won the trophies of all trophies, benzema involvement gets lowered again your a sheep, and argument are trash.

I bet everything i know as a madrid fan and footy fan in general, that if madrid won the 10th without benz, you guys would say benzema was the reason for not winning the freaking thing, and benzema scored key goal against bayern, that put the tie in our favor, to even get to the damn finals, dem memory lapses .

if madrid are to sell him to arsenal, we are nearing the middle of august, there isn't ample time to go for someone who'll be a better replacement, so it isn't happening, and it isn't happening not because "benzema is comfortable" or "doesn't want a challenge", but cos he wants to stay, and the club doesn't want to sell....besides, who leaves a good job at say ibm to go and work at some local computer shop because they want to "challenge themselves"?

remember, henry had a crazy season in 03/04, imo the best performance by an epl player in a single season (maybe only comparable to cristiano's utd 07/08 season), and even then, he didn't win balon d'or....if you think benzema can join this arsenal side (which will still be a crap side compared to the invincibles) and produce that type of performance, u're joking....

not to mention, the usual suspects in the balon d'or race aren't retiring and will still be playing on stronger squads. the only individual accolade he could get from going to arsenal will be premier league player of the month, premier league player of the year or pfa player of the year....and even those aren't guaranteed...its not like chelsea, utd, city are asleep, and arsene is known to throw out naive tactics every now and again

Not even top 3 last season, let alone top 2 through the last 10 (or 8 ) years.

13 penalty goals (obviously choking the one that mattered as usual) + 5 goals against Granada in a meaningless 9-1 trashing + 6 goals after the league was already officially over = 24 goals that weren't worth a single dime which is almost half his total tally. Coupled with 0 tituli, disappearing act against Juventus, choking against Valencia and a whole lot of other statpadding without performing = top 2 performer last season. This forum.
