There is still a chance
Manchester United will not give up on a world record bid for Gareth Bale. Louis van Gaal is still keen to add a star to his squad and has his sights set on an £86 million move for Bale.

Not a chance. He's the best in the world and we're not selling him for anything.

Rafa isn't letting him go in his first season incharge.
Maybe next year but he is very much a big part this season.

Re: There is still a chance
All joking aside, if he gets a free role (possibly with Ronaldo leaving so the team is geared towards Bale taking all the shots instead of Ronaldo bitching at his teammates for stealing "his" goals) and he gets back some confidence, he'll probably score around 30 goals a season. With penalties probably even somewhere around 40. Yes, he's a donkey technically, shit at buildup, dribbling etc. But one thing he can do is shoot and with confidence he can do a poor man's Ronaldo impression and somewhat come good. Ronaldo and Bale clash, that's the issue. You can only carry 1 tap-in merchant who can't do anything else, not 2.

Re: There is still a chance
Ronaldo is an all round footballer, immaculate runs into the box, shoots equally well with both feet, scores headers with ease, has a very good understanding with Marcelo and Benzema which allows him to play 1-2 to create openings for his shots. Bale does not make similar runs to Ronaldo, Jese is better at this too, is awfully one footed, misses easy chances, can't get long shots on target and isn't a very good header. He is also too old to develop these things, this is pretty much the level he will ever reach. Can see him scoring around 25-30 in all competitions without Ronaldo. I think James may score the most goals without Ronaldo or Jese if he becomes a starter. If United are insistent we should cut our losses imo, they are very generous offering what they are offering but we all know Perez will keep him around like he did Kaka and Benzema. Only when he wants a raise is the time Perez will like him less but dude sits on a €8mill a season, he won't ask for a raise anytime soon

Re: There is still a chance
we're not selling him...its high time we stop getting caught up in our feelings. he was terrible last season, he's one of the president's favorites, it is what it is. but harping on unrealistic rumors is a waste of time. think about it, if he was sold this summer, even for some crazy price, quadruple what we bought him for, we are in august, and as far as i know we aren't even involved in negotiations for any player similar to bale's profile to replace him....to think florentino will sell him to united (and possibly make utd better) without any replacement lined up is ridiculous
not to mention, the club is not necessarily desperate for money, when florentino has sold players for large prices, he has ended up signing a player for a lot more money, so its not like if united offered some large heap of cash, florentino will act like porto and sell....
that said, i feel this is a make or break season, if the team doesn't do well this season (by that i mean the league and champions league), this will be the end of the bbc as we know it. florentino will break that thing up and one or two of them will be asked out....especially as he'll probably be lining up finances to sign a new toy

Re: There is still a chance
Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is keen to play more frequently through the middle this season after he was deployed there in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Tottenham.
The Welsh forward scored the second goal during his side's Audi Cup triumph against his former club at the Allianz Arena, playing in a No.10 role by new coach Rafa Benitez.
Madrid are spoilt for choice in that area, with the likes of Isco and James Rodriguez to call upon, but Bale is convinced that a central position makes for the best use of his talents.
"It's my best position," he told reporters. "When I played for Tottenham, I felt I played my best football there and, when I play for Wales, I play there and play my best football. For me, that's my position and it's where I want to play.
"I'm able to go out to the left and the right and it's what I was doing at Tottenham and what I do for Wales. It's great to have the support of the manager and the president [Florentino Perez] and, hopefully, I can repay them with some goals and trophies."
I hate my life

Well the press is telling me he's our second best player, and I believe in all press.
Bale is the second best player in the world after Ronaldo (:
I love straight lines, which is why watching bale made me addicted to coke.
