I have a lot of belief this guy will be our next great defender.
With Barzagli now 34 he will get his chances.

Lets hope to see RUGANI integrated on the team
Barzagli and Evra are finished we should not extend their contracts

Are you serious bro? Barzagli is by far still the best defender in the team and among the best in europe, he deserves extension he shows no sign of slowing down and owns in duels.

Re: Daniele Rugani #24
I would definitely want to see Barzagli and Evra's contracts extended.
Team is in transition and we need all the experience and leadership we need right now.Atleast one needs to stay
If you are talking about offloading older players, Hernanes would be first on my list.

Almost 100% certain the anti-Barz comment is coming after he got trumped by 6'5 Llorente for the Sevilla goal.
Barzagli is absolutely fantastic, and Evra isn't that far off our mid 20's in form shiny, new left back and is a fantastic rotation option.

I would still take Barzagli over any of our defenders to be honest.. Not like I'm unsatisfied with the others, but Barzagli most of the times is just the perfect defender, never a liability. And it has been the same since he joined us.

I did not mean to say they are bad
Is just that there comes a time you have to surrder on players they getting old and the best is when contracts end
We have enough experience in line back
Sandro, chiellini, bonuci, lichtainer these guys are no U22

There's no reason for him to not get more minutes now.
I hope he's playing this weekend tbh.

I'm just so afraid that he asks for a transfer request.

It seems like Rugani will start tonight for Italy . Since Bonucci was out for his personal problems, we could see Chiellini-Barzagli-Rugani against France.

"Paul Scholes had retired, Darren Fletcher was injured. There was no one left to play in midfield. And I was training and I was beginning to get better bit by bit and the coach never stopped telling me, 'You're this far'.
"And I didn't understand. This far away from what? Playing? From having some playing time? From getting on the field? Or what?

Re: Daniele Rugani #24
So many of you were worried that we would bury him this season due to the abundance of experienced quality defenders we have.
Bonucci's injury has come as a blessing in disguise tbh. Right now Rugani is playing like he simply can't be dropped. I think we'll eventually see a Rugani-Bonucci-Chiellini 3 man defense once Bonucci returns.

All of our defenders are undroppable (the BBC) but Chiellini's injuries means Rugani can play more.

Re: Daniele Rugani #24
Is this finally Rugani's season?
He's been patient for his first two seasons with Juve after two incredible seasons with Empoli which saw him earn Serie B footballer of the year in his debut season and in his second season with Empoli, he made the Serie A team of the year.

He will play a lot, i think. If the management had the slightest feeling that he's not ready to step up we'd have 5 cbs by now.
Benatia is a 3rd option and Barzagli is past his prime, let's face it. Looks clumsy recently, only his pace maintains him in the top tier.
Chiellini-Rugani will be our starters from october to may imo

76 passes on 88% accuracy. Started next to Chiellini and was very good today. A couple of passes were misplaced but I think he made up for that with a few strong interceptions.
This could be a very great season for Rugani. I'm glad he got the start. He earned it. I hope he starts a consistent string of games to kick off the season.

Re: Daniele Rugani #24
There is a reason Bonucci was quickly shipped off to Milan. One because he was a disruption to the team and secondly because Allegri knew that Rugani was going to take his place.
Rugani has all the tools to become a legend at Juve. He is a clone of Alessandro Nesta and could be the next great Italian centre back. Rugani and Caldara will form the next dynamic duo in Italian football. Caldara is also a star in the making and could be a Gaetano Scirea clone with his passing ability and goal scoring prowess.
Rugani in my opinion will be the starter alongside Chiellini this year in a back 4. Benatia and Barzagli will be the bench options. I don't see Rugani losing his place in the starting lineup anytime soon.
Fun fact: Gaetano Scirea started his career at Atalanta and played there for 2 years before joining Juventus. Caldara is following exactly in his footsteps.

tbh I think the incident during the CL was the the thing that decided Bonucci's future. I am 99% sure it was him or Dybala if that 'slap' incident is true.
