Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
The idea of doing Sting vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Night of Champions next month reportedly came up about a week ago and was decided on just a few days before Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Regarding Sting’s appearance on RAW last night in the segment with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Rollins, PWInsider notes that the covered platform in the ring started out backstage and Sting was in there the whole time.
Crew members brought the box out on a forklift, raised some of the lighting boards at ringside to make way, and put the box into the ring with Sting inside.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Comparing NXT PPV's to RAW doesn't really make sense, since PPV's and weekly shows have different goals. PPV's are there for the longer matches, a place where they can pull out new things that they don't in the weekly filler matches. Which is why as far as I can remember the only goat NXT female matches have come on PPV's, not on the weekly shows.

Could use that 6ft3 300 pound Samoan woman.
WWE officials have had discussions about introducing an actual person as The Wyatt Family’s Sister Abigail.

Lmaooooooooooo
If I was a girl, I'd smash me.
But still, why would sister abigail be a person it's s'posed to be a person in Brays past that guided him and eventually died.
I can deal with semi-supernatural stuff but cba trying to justify to myself a full on zombie resurrection storyline in 2015
Edit: Unless it involved Zombie Benoit

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Orton going part time
Randy Orton is looking for a lightened WWE schedule, a report in the wrestling observer newsletter states.
The story first emerged when Ric Flair mentioned it on his podcast, noting that Orton is after the old Shawn Michaels schedule. He’d work for a while, then have lots of time off. He wouldn’t do a ton of shows, especially avoiding house shows.
The thing is, Orton is only 35. Michaels was a veteran when he had that part time deal from 2002 – 2010. But the observer report points out “That’s one of the perks of his making so much money over the past decade, in the sense he is probably set financially.”
Orton was main eventing for WWE as far back as 2003, when he took part in SummerSlam’s Elimination Chamber match. He’s easily been making over a million dollars a year for a decade now. He could just quit if he didn’t get the lighter schedule, giving himself leverage against WWE.
Orton has already been benefiting from lots of time off this year. He had a several week vacation and some weekends off work. If you look at his Twitter, you can see he is loving his life away from the ring. He even adopted a rescued dog.
As for WWE, to an extent, maybe it suits them to have Orton taking regular breaks. It keeps him fresh and serves as something to look forward to when he is there. It isn’t as if they have a bundle of creative for him, he is still a top star but he isn’t a priority.

Wonder if heel turn is in the dictionary.
Oxford Dictionaries has released their annual list of pop culture words added to their dictionary and kayfabe has made it this year. They wrote:
"Probably not familiar to those outside the world of pro wrestling, the term kayfabe refers to 'the fact or convention of presenting staged performances as genuine or authentic'. The origin of the word is uncertain, although it is often said to have arisen in American travelling carnivals. The word has been interpreted by some as being an alteration of 'be fake' backwards, while the -ay- element is typical of the way words are formed in Pig Latin."

- Regarding WWE Tough Enough winner Josh Bredl, there are people within WWE who feel he can be a mega-star. We noted a few weeks back that Josh was Vince McMahon's favorite from day one. We also noted that there were people genuinely happy that Josh won on Tuesday night.

Lesnar's meant to be this strong force, yet he hasn't won any of his last 3 PPV matches.
Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Regarding the screwy finish to Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker at WWE SummerSlam last Sunday, Vince McMahon felt like The Undertaker had to win this match but he didn't want to beat Lesnar straight-up.
The decision was made for The Undertaker to be the winner and then they were all about trying to figure out a way to have Taker win without actually beating Lesnar. This is why they came up with the finish that went down.

It was rumored back in 2013 that actor Liev Schreiber would be playing Chris Benoit in a movie called Crossface. It was noted in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Schreiber has been announced for the movie. The movie is reportedly being produced by SRG Films and is an adaptation of Matt Randazzo's "Ring of Hell" book.
