Also see how RAW suddenly becomes goat when you have 2 larger than life guys like Taker/Lesnar on the show.
Last week RAW was GOAT too..Rollins had a hand in that.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Last night on the Observer radio when they were going over the segment with Undertaker and Brock Lesnar brawling Dave made it a point to say that all the mid carders came out to help break up the brawl. Bryan asked "yeah but I saw Kevin Owens" to which Dave replied "yep that's exactly what they think of him and that was them (wwe management) showing theyre hand".
They basically think that he is going to be a mid carder and they don't think that he is a superstar. Dave pointed out that they made sure that everyone that they're protecting was not out there to break up the brawl so Roman,Dean,Wyatt, Seth, Cena, etc. The top tier talent.
On the previous Bryan and Vinny show the one after Battleground, Bryan said that as long as Kevin Owens is overweight this company will never get behind him and Vince McMahon is still running things. In the past they have gotten big guys over before like Yokozuna but times have changed and Vince no longer things like that no matter how entertaining or how good Kevin is.
Too long didn't read Dave doesn't have much faith in WWE getting behind Kevin Owens.
And that's that. The hype was fun while it lasted. Actually thought he would be a main eventer within one year.

How dare they treat Kevin Owens like that.
First they put him in a feud with a broomstick and now they treat him like that?
P.S. Rollins has become so boring. He's almost like the Bellas.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
So they won't push Owens because he's "overweight" but are protecting Wyatt who has a similar body shape? And last I checked, Wyatt was most certainly over. As is Owens, but then WWE have a history of ignoring the blatantly obvious whenever it contradicts their preconceptions about certain wrestlers.
re Rollins: I honestly think he needs to do more than just run away at this point. I really feel it'd benefit him to have a match without any outside interference so he can win without circumstances just randomly favoring him all the time.

I don't really believe that news report tbh. Seems more like a rant than objective reporting. Kevin Owens is there to stay. They just shouldn't let him disappear into abyss. Some solid feuds with the likes of Ambrose, Orton etc will help him develop.

Can't believe that as soon as ratings started to go down, Vince immediately flipped out and pushed Cena back to title picture.

Always hated that sort of 'act' but sadly for money reasons WWE needs at least 1 of them in the main event at all times.
Corny, but necessary. Well, only because WWE suck at letting the most liked rasslers rise to the top and need to force stuff down our throats.

It was reported Cena merchandise sales went down after he lost clean to Owens. So naturally Cena had to win the feud and then go on to win the WWE title.
Like when Brock destroyed Cena, Vince immediately had Cena bury the entire Wyatt Family

Have you forgotten how Rock used to come to every city and sing its praise? like every week? And still does it lol? Or Hogan?
Cena didn't 'use' the kid to get cheers. He was doing something special for the kid, like he has done it in the past. Cena doesn't 'need' anyone to cheer for him. Everyone knows what he is and doesn't matter if he gets bood every week or cheered, he will still stay as larger than life character.

The Rock and Hogan did it whether they got booed or not, they did it as heels and faces. It was NEVER a cheap attempt to get cheers out of the crowd because they were getting booed out of the arena like Cena does every week.
Cena says every week that "this is the best WWE crowd he's ever heard" or "I'm fighting for you, so please like me!!!" And who can forget that pathetic attempt when he came to England and said the UK deserved Wrestlemania?
He needs those cheers. The boos get to him because no matter how much the WWE shield him and protect him, no matter how many titles they give him, no matter how hard the commentary team suck his ass off (the only guy on the roster where each member of the the commentary team suck his ass, though JBL was the "HEEL" announcer?), the fans don't want him, they don't view him as one of the greats.
Why has he not turned heel in over 10 years in the business?

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Because Cena is a company man. That's probably his biggest flaw.
He doesn't decide anything himself. He has influence on decisions, but in the end he does what Vince tells him to do. He doesn't decide that he has to win every single match. He isn't the owner nor he is HHH lol
If Vince asks him to turn heel, he isn't going to flat out reject him. But Vince won't do that. That ship has way gone past.
It's kinda funny because he was building a new-ish character for himself in mid card with the US title. But he is back to where he was as soon as Vince felt threatened with the plummeting ratings

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Agree on the commentary sucking him off. Seriously it's better to mute the TV when there is a Cena match going. Absolutely hate when Michael Cole gets an orgasm whenever Cena does a new-ish move. "What on earth is he...? OH WOW! OH WOW! OH JESUS! HOLY MOTHER OF CHRIST" It's sickening ffs and they act like Cena did the maneuver of the century when you have people n freakin developmental doing the same thing but better on a weekly basis.
Just look at the contrast lol. Any other wrestler does what Cena does and the highest the commentators would go is a mild wow. When it's Cena they have to scream their lungs out because they have to paint Cena as the best technical wrestler in the world to balance out the fact that people called him out using only five moves for five years.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Why is it a fact in this thread that Cena is back on the main event to get ratings back up? Nowhere else in the internet is this being said. For all we know this has been the plan for months. The only fact we have are merchandise numbers and they indeed took a dive for Cena after he lost to Owens.

He has influence. Big influence:
He RARELY EVER works on Smackdown!
He's been a face for 10+ years.
He has never been "drafted" to Smackdown!
He was main eventing PPV when he wasn't champion.
He may not be Vince or HHH, but he has huge influence in how his character is used, just like HHH and Shawn Michaels had.
It's no coincidence the 2nd worst period in the company's history is when Cena is the top guy.
He's not wanted. 15 World titles, 2 Royal Rumble wins, announcers constantly calling him the GOAT and STILL the fans across America boo the crap out of him and see him as a joke.
The guy is awful.

Bryan Alvarez reported on today's installment of Wrestling Observer Live that coming out of Monday's RAW the current plan is to do United States Champion John Cena vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
SummerSlam takes place on August 23, 2015 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City, New York.
