As a lifelong Cena fan thought you'd want to watch him be 66th time World champ.

Rollins/Cena easily match of the night with an hour and a half still to go. No chance Taker/Lesnar is living up to that.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Okay so Taker/Lesnar was also amazing despite the weird ending. There were a few very memorable moments, not least Lesnar flipping the bird before he lost.
Overall I thought Summerslam was an enjoyable watch and whatever worries I had about it were unfounded for the most part. It was almost a pure wrestling show, with very few promos, lengthy backstage segments or pointless filler, and most of the matches were of a good quality.
Rollins/Cena and Taker/Lesnar really delivered. The others were solid, bar the IC triple threat which I thought was crap (Miz spent the whole match on the outside leaving Ryback and Show to fight it out - horrible), and the Divas match where not all the girls got a chance to really show off what they could do. Didn't think much of the Neville/Amelle vs Stardust/Barrett match either, but then I wasn't in to the whole celebrity thing.
"Roman's sleeping" was by far the best chant of the night.
It's worth watching.

Lesnar's ruined imo. Turning him into a face and now losing. Was expecting a major swerve or two, nothing really happened.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
bullshit show, the WWE *bleep* up the finishes of best/most important matches on the card. We get it, John Cena cant lose clean, whatever, but John Stewart ? really ? ill give the WWE the benefit of the doubt now and wait until Raw to see where this goes but yea, whatever, that shit was weird and ruined one of the best matches ive seen this year. And then Taker and lesnar, oh boy, great match, way better than WM, but why do we have to go this far ? the low blow/fainting was enough to protect Lesnar, but noo, we have to do the most confusing shit and kill the momentum of the match, well done..

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Interesting show.
Why can't Cena lose clean? WHY? He made Rollins tap out on RAW FFS and he can't lose this match at a PPV without a fcking excuse!? This is why I detest this this guy, because he never loses a feud clean and he always must prevail. You already know he is getting the belts at Night of Champions, the commentators pretty much secured that with the way they kept mentioning tying Flair's record.
Taker/Lesnar..... made no sense. I literally have no idea what happened there. Just have Lesnar win the damn match. There is no need for Taker to Low Blow him (makes Taker look weak and no better than the Miz) and then make him "pass out", it ruins the believabilty of the match that a 50 year old was able to make a former UFC Heavyweight Champ pass out using a hold that wasn't even applied right.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Prime example of how a stupid finish ruins a great match. I get it they want Undertaker to win but Lesnar to look strong, just have Taker tap out and the ref to not see it and Lesnar thinking he won, no need for a hawkeyed timekeeper. Why didn't the timekeeper ring for DQ when Stewart hit Cena with a chair? I swear this company...
Show was good though. Part of the reason I like NXT so much is that their matches with months of buildup don't have any stupid endings whatsoever. I felt as if Vince Russo booked the ending. The match was so good though. Taker's laugh nearly had me in tears. And Rollins ffs, Crossfit Jesus is real

I watched the Taker/Lesnar match this morning, was a great match until the shitty ending. Can think of a million and one different ways they could have done that better tbh.
This though.....

Russo wouldn't book such a generic ending imo. We'd have some form of a swerve. Ambrose heel turn, joins the Wyatts. They come out to help Taker, when Sting suddenly appears. Match ends. Sets up rivalry for the next 20 years. Done.

Speaking of Vince, it's his 70th birthday today.
Birthday edition of RAW imo.
His present is none other than da look all wrapped up and wet.

*Insert daily Rollins hate comment*
Just realised Scrublins is the WWE and US champion. Looks like he's the one getting shoved down our throats and not Reigns. Dat swerve.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Rollins' gear was ridiculous hope he never wears that again. Getting John Stewart involved was such a Russo type move.
Taker-Lesnar was better than expected. Taker shouldn't have tapped, it should have ended with Lesnar passing out after flipping the bird. Now we are probably going to see a 3rd match at Wrestlemania

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
We've heard from several sources in the last hour that Sting, who had returned home after signing on Saturday for WWE, flew back to NYC this evening. It would appear he is scheduled for tomorrow's RAW taping.
Brock Lesnar is slated for tomorrow's Raw as well.
The Undertaker is also scheduled to be at tomorrow's taping but whether he will appear on camera remains to be seen.
Still, the stage is set for an interesting post-Summerslam Raw tomorrow.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Watched it now
Was alright. Better than I expected. Stephen Amell Wish they had let him do some more moves like a spear or a suplex. But it was good to see him in the ring lol.
Also I'd genuinely like to see people STILL claim Cena can't wrestle Only an absolute idiot would say that. What a great match. Match of the night by a mile. Rollins was so good as well.
Shit ending though. Made no sense for John Stewart to come on and help Rollins??? I hope they explain that properly. Interesting to see Rollins with both titles now. Wonder what will happen?
Taker/Lesnar ending sickened me. Taker looked good though. Better than he did at WM.
But wtf was that ending? And they made Lesnar look pathetic with that Heyman announcement at the end

Ideally Cena wins the WWE title next PPV, Rollins keeps US title and becomes midcard 4 lyf.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
They might go that route. But if they let Rollins win both title at the 2nd biggest PPV then they are planning to let him keep it till WM32

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 22
Taker/Lesnar was still the main event though, doubt they'd have Rollins main event SS. They're using Rollins as World champion in the shitty periods (post WM, post SS) and calling up the legit main eventers for the big periods. Even if Rollins is champion come WM, there's no way he'll main event imo.
