£10m is a bargain. Put age aside because it means very little for a keeper still at his best. It's like signing a world class striker when they're 30, they can still give you 3 years of top football at the very minimum.

And especially given the fact that he's coming from Chelsea, as Kick said, the only reason it wasn't higher was because Cech didn't want to go elsewhere.


But it's still good business from Chelsea and not just this rose-tinted, romantic gesture from Abramovich because if Cech really did only want to go to Arsenal then he could have waited his contract out, joined us on a free and then Chelsea would have been missing out on £10m and paying him, what, £5m in wages?

I am excited the prospect of woj (who I still rate highly) finally living upto his full potential with Cech acting as the mentor. This is such a win win situation.

Just want it to go to a leader who consistently starts. Cech would make sense for the next 2-3 years minimum. Per will probably decline quicker than him, he's already competing with Gabriel.

Was dodgey for a lot of last season but upped his game considerably towards the end. Bailed us out many times.

Kind of sums up his time at Arsenal, really. The ability is still there, but maybe he's not as consistent anymore.

Still a great GK and our best in a decade. As has been said, there's been a marked decline but he's still capable of being our no. 1.

No idea what's going on with Szczesny but I wouldn't mind having them compete next season. The winner ousts the other. Given their ages, it's healthy to push them to their best.
