I suppose they're looking to swap one cup specialist for another as the league apparently doesnt seem as much of interest to them.

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
nah, carlo will just continue to play the same guys until they cant run. He did it two freaking years in a row, how thick is he. He is a great as a presence, as a person, he is loved, there are no conflicts, all is good, but i dont understand how people just overlook his squad management for the past two years in la liga. Even i was hoping his reputation would turn around with us but he is clearly doing something wrong.
@Jibers, Klopp is reactive but he is also super aggressive in our he plays. I can live with that. There is a difference between how he set up to react and counter and how mou does it with chelsea for example. Klopp pushes his line high, gegenpresses, push the fullback forward, etc...

Great stuff. Childhood dream Rafa job, so happy for him.
He can finally have a stab at tactical chess battles of CL and a genuine shot at winning a league trophy after a long time.
Madrid fans won't complain about lack of rotation though , imagine Rafa rotating CR

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
i dont get this. Now Ancelotti is the darling of the universe, best coach ever, when he was running our ligas into the ground with no rotations and the same predictable set ups getting pounded down by atletico, where was such love and support?

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
Madrid would be stupid to go for someone like Klopp and it is even more stupid for Klopp to go to a club like Madrid. Klopp should choose to go to a club like Monaco, or even Liverpool. He needs to establish himself once again before he goes to a club like Madrid.
For Madrid, Rafa seems to be very apt choice. It makes sense in many ways, off course for footballing reasons too. But I dont think he will be too long there, he will win a CL or La Liga in a year or two and will eventually get sacked to be replaced by Zidane.

Exactly, Zidane is Florentino's real bet. So now what he needs is someone to be in the place for one or two years that can win titles and, more importantly, make the players give their 100%. I don't know, but maybe Carlo was too soft with the players, and Cristiano's party after the defeat against Atlético certainly did not help.
As for the Benítez option, if I were a Madrid fan I would be strongly against it because I don't like his style at all, at least I didn't when he coached Valencia, haven't followed much of him since.

Re: Who will replace Carletto ??
Thing is every manager has his faults. Carlo didn't rotate, Rafa does, but Rafa may do something wrong, that somebody else may do right. Mourinho played too defensively, Pellegrini didn't do this or that, Capello did that thing wrong etc etc. So what we're actually looking for is a pepfect manager, which simply doesn't exist. We just have to hope we end up winning trophies in spite of a managers faults and there's a good chance of that happening when you combine a WC manager with a WC team.
