I really haven't been following much of the transfers this window. I just wait for the official news and that's it. No point speculating.

Well there's still 20 days left of the transfer window and it seems we intend to use all of that :-)
On a brighter note, there's still ample time to rope-in required targets.

Reports coming out of several news sources (including the usually reliable Times) suggest that Enrique sh/could be done within a day or two.

Well The Times is usually pretty reliable & i guess this was coming anyways . .hope this would be wrapped up before Arsenal game. . coz one game is good enough for Aurelio to land himself in the hospital

Re: Summer Silly Season: Official Thread
Its usually rare I see red posting reports as this has to be a sign that the signing of Enrique is imminent.
I hope so as I still stand by that JE is the 3rd best LB in the EPL.

Times Article:
"Liverpool agreed a £5.5 million fee with Newcastle United last night to sign José Enrique, the left back, which will probably mark the end of the club’s summer spending.
Liverpool hope to part-fund the deal for the former Spain Under-21 player, who had entered the last year of his contract, by selling David Ngog, the forward, to Bolton Wanderers. Newcastle are in talks to sign Erik Pieters, of PSV Eindhoven, as a replacement."

Re: Summer Silly Season: Official Thread
JOSE Enrique is on his way to Liverpool to undergo a medical - according to sources on Merseyside.
The Chronicle understands that unhappy Toon defender is expected to sign for the Kop side today after being on the radar of Kenny Dalglish since the end of last season.
Enrique had made it clear he had no intention of staying at United or signing the lucrative contract offered to him in June,
The Chronicle revealed on July 30 that Dalglish had told his board to step up the chase after a poor defensive record in pre-season with the left-back slot a big cause for concern for Liverpool.
Newcastle though now have a left-back problem of their own and PSV Eindhoven defender Erik Pieters is one of Alan Pardew's top targets.

hmmm well the source is good . .but the language is not definitive . .also where there any direct report regarding Ngog?? Anyhow i would be happy to see him off in all honesty . .then i guess we would definitely be looking at Kuyt as our back up as it doesn't seem we would be buying any more players apart from a CB this window. .not a bad idea. .three strikers i guess can cover till January . .then we can take our time to find a good replacement considering our position in the league!

Re: Summer Silly Season: Official Thread
Real Madrid rejected 25 M € for Gonzalo Higuain
Although not split as a starter this season, Real Madrid view of an output Gonzalo Higuain at any price. An example of this situation are the latest reports, which say that whites have rejected 25 M € for his departure.
The pre-season Real Madrid has had a clear winner. This is Karim Benzema of French footballer who has shown all his eye for goal and has won the confidence of Jose Mourinho with effort, so it looks to be a starter in the first leg of Super Cup against FC Barcelona.
So, this good level shown by the French put will cost Gonzalo Higuain, who played the last edition of the Copa America, which was later incorporated in the preparation, so everything points to see the first games since the bench.
Precisely this is what other teams have tried to take advantage. One is Rome, which has become the international albiceleste in one of his top priorities for his attack, especially after the departure of Mirko Vucinic in the direction of Juventus for a fee of around 15 M €.
However, it seems that the whole of the capital of Italy is not the only thing he has in his sights as a possibility for lead. This is precisely what point the information published by Imperioromanista, whereby the team from the capital of Spain has received an offer from Liverpool estimated at 25 M €, which was rejected.
It seems, therefore, that those interested in the Argentine soccer should raise their offers for him if they want to make his move.
This was up in Spanish . .shocking! ! why would this even be considered! ! ! I don't know of the reliability of the source. .
but this is new & weird

Another link from Italian press suggests . .
Real dismissed the Liverpool Higuain
According to Spanish press, Real Madrid refused an offer of 25 million euros made by Liverpool for Gonzalo Higuain (24). The news confirms the long-Argentine incedibilità also approached to Juventus.

Also rumors rising that Arsenal are now the front runners for Dann & they have started talking & now we have stepped up our pursuit for Cahill . .which i feel is more realistic with Ngog being part of any deal . .
