I actually really think that the same thing will happen on the books too.

Except Roose won't be anywhere close to hugging Ramsay.

Show Roose is so much more likeable than Book Roose, though. I won't feel bad at all.

In a way, I wish he kept the story shorter and remove all these filter characters and storylines. Quite clear the main 5 characters that will make it to the end and everyone/everything else is just filler.

Do you think the Tower of Joy scene from the TV show will be the same as for the books? Because I really liked that whole Howland Reed warging theory rather than just 'he got stabbed in the back'.

I expect there's more to it but in general I'd say it's 50-50. It's what I said earlier - you can't draw conclusions from the show because they can change things if they want and we've already seen countless times they do it aswell. Let's not forget they already changed the numbers in the scene and made Dayne a dual wielder.

I think that huge ass sword Dayne had was supposed to be Dawn.

I think Howland just stabbed Dayne in the back in the books too. ASOIAF fans always look for any answers but the simplest ones. TOJ is one, hardly seen anyone mention before the Dayne just got backstabbed. Seen theories that Howland warged him, told Dayne that he is in love with his sister, told Dayne that his sister is in love with Ned etc. Also the younger, more beautiful queen prohesized to replace Cersei. Seen theories of Sansa, Brienne, Arianne, Arya. Everyone except the most obvious one, Daenerys Laughing

I think the problem is that Dayne knew how many opponents he had so it's hard to imagine he would expose himself like that. Fighting against groups they always try to surround you so you constantly have to check what happens in your back. Going out like that is a beginners error.

Personally I always pictured a ranged attack from Reed.

Yeah it was. Ramsay's killing Rickon in episode 9, I'm sure of it.

Just read that shaggydog's head could be the Davos' head version from the books. That makes sense

but could also be a fools hope hmm

New chapter is out (we knew the general plot line from previous readings). Does this mean he's close to finishing? It's been almost half a year since he missed his "deadline", you would think he would be close to done by now.

I read the new chapter earlier today.

Gave me that AFFC/ADWD vibe.

Arianne / Aegon is one of the few decent storylines left.

So far the only targ who is immune to fire in the show is Dany, I'd say Show!Dany is immune to fire.

Honestly I think it's a thing that will only bother book fans because in the show there have been no attempts whatsoever to disproof that Dany is immune to fire. Most people already think that.

Well yeah tbh it wasn't even the actual reason why the scene was terrible, it was just the first thing that came to my mind.

Yeah show Dany is fire immune. Won't be surprised at all if they retcon Jon to be immune to fire too.

Also this episode further convinced me that the Pink Letter is true in the books. Chronologically ADWD is off and Martin said some chapters in TWOW are actually before the ending chapters of ADWD. Stannis will crush the Freys but Roose is not an idiot, he has a plan and Stannis will die.

I also think that Jon was supposed to go to Hardhome in ADWD but GRRM ran out of time. He wanted the book to end with Jon dying so he cancelled the trip and sped up the Pink Letter.
