This was a huge opportunity missed for Milan. Like Pippo always stated the Coppa Italia was going to be your Champions League this season and with the current situation in Serie A, Milan should've went all-in for it. You needed to save something from this season, the last thing Milan needs is to go another season where you need to build anything from scratch.

What huge opportunity ? The cup is meaningless and our priority always was doing well in Serie A this season , the only reason the cup was presented like that , is solely because of how much we suck in the league. The cup always had been and it still remains meaningless. 2 years now it's been used as an excuse to salvage what they think can be salvaged by yet another failure of a season . Had we been 3rd atm , we would play our b team against Lazio. That's the reality .

Most importantly however , Milan would never win the cup this season , we couldn't win the cup even if somehow we had progressed yesterday . We would just lose by any of Roma , Napoli or Juventus eventually . That's also the reality . Just going by that , something that really wasn't in our true capabilities can never be regarded as a huge opportunity .

The huge opportunity was to take 9 points against Sassuolo , Torino and Atalanta . Milan proving we were at the very least on par with Lazio e.t.c . Those were huge opportunities , which Milan totally wasted , to the detriment of our CL hopes .

Right now , our target is EL . Let's see if Inzaghi can at least handle a 5th place or something , because something tells me we are going to finish between 7th and 10th this season , if we continue like this.
