ronaldo's free kicks : what the hell happened ?

aren't players supposed to get better at those when they get older and practice more ? how did this guy go from being compared to Juninho to becoming a laughing stock and an example on how NOT to take a free kick ?

remember the good old 2007-2010 days when his free kicks swooped youtube and drew constant fappening from 15 year old fanboys ?

just moments ago in the bar where i was watching the game , 2 guys bet each other before ronaldo's last freekick .

" stands " and " wall " were the picks .

And yeah, from what I've saw, the vast majority of his free-kicks for a few years now are blasted well high.

There was a short amount of time where he was quite dangerous from free kicks during the tail end of his Man U career and the beginning of his Madrid career, but ever since then he's never been a consistent threat.

He hasn't be a legitimate threat from free kicks for years.

Bale should be the free kick taker for Madrid for all of them. He definitely has his fair share of skied free kicks and shots into the wall, but at least he makes it from time to time.

Tbf his style will always dictate this, even at Man Yoo he'd blast more in the stands than he would in the net.

He's never been a consistently great taker of free kicks, just one that was capable of scoring them here and there.

His way was always if you shoot enough, eventually a few will go in.

the fact is though that Real have a lot of decent positioned standard opportunities wasted because ronaldo claims monopoly on taking every free kick, directly, no matter how much it makes sense.
And the less he has the ratio to support his claim (and you can't tell me he has lol), the more I wonder if it's not negligence/lack of authority on the part of the manager.

Because he'd simply have to decide that certain positions are NOT taken by ronaldo

Bale scored a great free kick the other game, and I'm actually convinced that a big part of the well media-covered anger Ronaldo showed toward him for not passing in a later attack was fueled by his hurt ego about that.

i've always had problems with the knuckle ball style of shooting free kicks;beautiful when they go in, but hardly efficient, unless you're juninho....another problem is cristiano attempts a set piece from almost any distance, which defeats the purpose of a free kick.....i'd fancy bale starts attempting more free kicks on the left hand side as well, (he's lethal from the right zone) but i doubt that'll happen

Well, there is no big difference between si and shi - at least if you transliterate Japanese kana

will be rendered as "shi" if you use the Hepburn transliteration system, but as "si" if you use the ISO 3602 (Kunrei-shiki) transliteration system.
