Daniel Green Very Happy

Good victory , we need of 11 points so as to stay in Serie A now. Next match against bogey team Atalanta Mad

My main positive notes :

- Brozovic MOTM today hmm He looks like a complete player

- Guarin  confirms to be Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,  he was difference maker with a goal and 2 assist today

- Santon didn't play for much time but he still confirms to be an improvement over Dodò ( rofl awful player  ) and Nagatomo. 2  solid matches  against Napoli and today  for him . He looked like improved from English experiences for personality. Basically he doesn't look like the " shy" Bambino as we called him ... I am glad he is back.

-Icardi  of course.  2 goals for him and 1 post. Not celebrated Balotelli-esque because he discussed against ultras after Sassuolo match. He reminds me sometimes Vieri as player (although he must improve about it , for teammwork , but I talk simply about some aspects.  Vieri could keep  the whole attack alone,he was a beast).

He won the battle against Dybala today.
Icardi scored 2 goals while Dybala missed this incredible goal

OMG

Katy Perry wrote:Yea, I think these youngsters coming from Roma's youth team and being Romanisti through and through will most likely stay and become clubs legend whereas those youngsters that Sabatini racks up across the world like Paredes, Ucan, Sanabria will be sold for big money at the first big offer like Lamela, Marquinhos and Jedvaj.

Of those you mentioned, I feel like Ucan probably is the most susceptible at this point. Rudi has had ample opportunities to use him and he hasn't done it, which doesn't bode well for him. Then comes Sanabria, given our depth in attack, but it's possible he could be a holdover for when Totti retires. Paredes seems least likely to go, but that really depends on Strootman and Pjanic's situations in the summer mercato. We sell one of them for big money and I think he stays to fill the void. We keep them longer then it becomes more likely he may go to turn a profit on what we paid for him. So certainly many of these youngsters are indeed bargaining chips to keep our books balanced, but with the new stadium coming and the revenues that come with it, we need only continue to qualify, play in and advance through of the CL. We do that we don't have to worry about selling our prized jewels every summer. I look to Juve for that. They may very well part with a player like Pogba eventually, but they'll do on their terms for the fee they want for him. I want Roma to have that type of power in the market.

lol, what a miss from Dybala. Although, I will say he did pretty well seconds earlier just to make it to the ball after whatever the hell that was from Barreto.

I wonder when's the last time Chievo got relegated...they're always the favourites to go down at the start of every season but always manage to get that 17th place in the last rounds of Serie A. They do have some nice and underrated players such as Hetemaj, Paloschi, Radovanovic and the evergreen Pellissier but it's still amazing how they do it every season.

And Donadoni should just quit Parma ASAP. It's not even doing a Schettino, the whole Parma situation is a joke and not his fault and he's the one who gets scapegoated and the only one who puts his face and he's not even getting paid because of the Parma's owners fiasco.
He's really a fine manager and is only ruining his reputation by staying there and losing every week because no one gives a shit anymore.

Pato's record in Serie A at 22 puts them all to shame, not sure why he's excluded from the list.

I must say though, it's rather remarkable that Inzaghi and Vieri had one league goal between them at this stage in their careers.

The contrast in their records compared to someone such as Pato should serve as a prominent reminder that overall performances and skill sets must also be considered, not simply raw numbers, in evaluating a player. Berardi's numbers for instance look very impressive for a wide forward - though I will note that he's only 20 so including him in this list seems dishonest - however I am highly sceptical about him. I've watched a lot of Sassuolo recently and my major concern is how uninvolved he is in matches, particularly compared to his partners in crime up front. Most top sides in the game nowadays would not permit anyone but a central forward to contribute so few touches in a match. For a wide forward, to be so uninvolved in general play, one must be highly efficient and a huge 1v1 threat. Berardi's undoubtedly skilled and can take players on but he reminds me far too much of Cerci at times, though I do think he's the more 'talented' player. I feel that he's living off one extraordinary game against Milan and relying on penalties to continue to inflate his record and thus his hype. Both Zaza and Sansone impress me more from Sassuolo.

Also I watched the Roma-Cagliari game and Verde was very impressive. I was expecting perhaps to see a player who chipped in with a couple of nice balls that masked an inconsistent performance characteristic of someone so young but it was a very complete game. Despite his age and lack of time with the first team he was constantly involved, demanding and receiving the ball from his teammates regularly who showed great trust in him and displaying a good passing range but also sensible decision making for the most part. He defended well and worked hard the entire game, proving to be a rugged character despite his height. His build reminds me quite a bit of Shaqiri, one not to be bullied easily. He should have scored earlier in the game even if the chance did arrive on his weaker foot but his first assist was a beautiful and inventive touch, something Totti would have been proud of. With Iturbe out for so long I hope Garcia continues to give him game time rather than pushing Ljajic out to the right once Gervinho arrives back. He's young so there's nothing wrong with bringing him off the bench for the most part but I hope we don't see Florenzi preferred to him at RW too often. Sanabria also impressed me in his short cameo but he looked strangely slow. Short appearances can be deceiving though so I'll wait until I see more of him.

Yeah I was wondering why he was not on the list. Also I'm pretty sure El Shaarawy has like 20 goals too.

Pato turned 22 during the 2011-12 season. He had 50 Serie A goals prior to the start of that season.

Inzhaghi never played in Serie A before he was 22, only C1 and B. His inclusion in the chart makes it seem like he has played there, might as well include Messi Laughing

Likewise Vieri played only 7 matches in Serie A before 22.

I suspected it had something to do with having played few games - or even none - but I hadn't looked it up. What I was more interested in is how our perception of potential is often warped. There is an obsession with youth and the idea of a linear career progressions in certain sectors of both the media and fan bases who tend to create 'future' XIs dominated by youngsters who they've never seen a full match from rather than more mature players who will continue to develop their games.

They're not the only misleading names in the list however, as I said, Berardi is two years younger than everyone else whilst there were at least two or three players on a par with Pato, though I can't seem to find the article from when he broke the record for his age.
