Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
Rodgers is making sure that his first LFC signing Fabio Borini has no future at Liverpool. Next he has to make sure that his second LFC signing, Joe Allen, has no future at Liverpool. What an average, average player. Nice defending, just let Valencia kick it through your legs just like that. Jesus, how this guy keeps starting games for us. I'm disgusted at him and Rodgers' favoritism towards him.
Their second goal a yard offside and that's probably it.
This time around it seems to be some 3-4-3. We've been promising at times, but Henderson at wing-back, Gerrard-Allen pivot, I don't know.
Anyone else think Mignolet would have given himself a better chance to save Rooney's shot than diving out of the way too early?

Btw, Sakho seems to now officially be our 4th choice CB. Whereas personally I'd rather have Sakho and Agger join Skrtel in our three-man defense than either of Kolo or *gets a little puke in his mouth* Lovren.

Losing 3-0 to a shit United team. Sure we're unlucky but there is no excuse for this.
Sack him. I'm done.
In the GS I said wait until the summer and then sack him, But *bleep* this. Sack him now. Clueless fraud. Get an interim manager until then.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
yeah I know Mr-r. Worst UNited team we've faced. But honestly we had 10 sitters. We should have really won this game but it doesn't help that we have clueless idiot in charge.
Gerrard honestly walked all game. We were playing with a liability. It didn't help that Rodgers son Allen is the most average footballer in history of the world. But obviously those 2 can't be dropped.
Oh boy. I don't ceeeh

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
Yes, what really makes this a sad, sad result that this United team isn't anything special. They were there for the taking. I don't think any other team in the Prem has allowed that many shots on target against us as United today. Yet we lose 3 - 0.
Positives:
Coutinho. Got three of their men booked in the first half and always looking to get forward with the ball.
Lallana. Did quite all right for his 45 minutes.
Amount of chances created.
Negatives:
Allen and everything he does.
Lovren.
Gerrard-Allen CM pair.
Henderson as wing-back.
Had over £100m to spend in the summer and today Sturridge was the only unavailable striker of ours... Yet we have to start with Sterling as striker. Whose finishing is unbelievably bad, btw.
Trying random formations and personnel changes which logic behind seems to be nothing else than blind faith. From 4-2-3-1 against Basel to 3-4-3 against United.
Joe Allen.
3 - 0.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
United actually put 3 past us and they couldnt even string two passes properly at the back
They deserve it, They know how to be shit and still get three points. I wont even try to think what could have happened if the second goals would have been given as offside or Sterling would have put one of those in.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
Yeah, on this evidence Jones shouldn't be playing even if Mignolet wasn't doing so good. Especially that first goal, okay, it's Rooney shooting from inside the box, but I don't think I would see many Premier League keepers halfway through a dive in the wrong direction when the shot is yet to get away.

I don't mind the result. Seriously. But what infuriates me is the fact that, this is not an accident but a continuation and there's no end in sight. It infuriates me that Rodgers is making elementary mistakes what seems like ON PURPOSE.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
The tactical goats experiments continue.
1) Jones.... REALLY?
2) Kolo starts on the bench, dropped for Lovren, just after being named man of the month. Johnson at CB started over him. (GJ now injured fml.)
3) No lucas to cover 3 at the back.
4) Henderson as a box to box wing back?
5) Gerrard in a 2 man midfield?
6) Lallana finally getting a game on the pitch........... after it's been called he has broken ribs.
7) Sterling as a CF when Balotelli is back.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
Still upset about this game. It feels like nothing is going our way this season and it's so easy to be a debbie-downer and blame everything on Rodgers, or the transfers, or this than and the other thing but I feel like it just sometimes isn't your year. When Sterling can't score after being passed the ball by the United defence, and they get an off-side goal while we've been putting all of the pressure on them and creating so many more chances...I don't even know. It's just got to be bad luck.
The positive from this match though is it seems Rodgers is starting to move back to what made him successful in the first place which is an attacking style of football with a lot of chances created. He made some head scratching decisions in terms of the line-up, but the play was good and if he can build on that (with some corrections to the personnel) we'll start to see some good things happen again.
Drop Lovren and Allen, play Sakho and Can. Also as bad as Mignolet has been he can't be dropped for Jones unless Rodgers thinks that will have Mignolet bounce back to last season's form.
For Arsenal perhaps.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
El Cujo you still support Lovren and think he's still 'adjusting'?
And we had so many space to operate with because United's defence and United in general are shiet not because all of a sudden we play the same attacking football we did last season.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
I'm not writing off a 25 year old defender that just had a fantastic season because he's struggling over a couple of months. Do I think he needs to be better? Yes. Do I think he should be dropped for now? Yes. I don't think that means he's done as a player with LFC or that he's a bad player.BusterLfc wrote:El Cujo you still support Lovren and think he's still 'adjusting'?
So you think that United are worse than some of the other teams we've played recently and looked just to not lose as opposed to win? No, we definitely played a more positive game against United than we have been playing of late. It wasn't just the quality of the opponent. We were pressing, taking control of the game and forcing trouble on their defence. Our finish was shit but our overall play was good. And we had so many space to operate with because United's defence and United in general are shiet not because all of a sudden we play the same attacking football we did last season.

Re: Manchester United v Liverpool
It's such a myth that Lovren had a fantastic season for Southampton He was decent but fantastic
All you need to do is go back and watch our match against them at Saint MAry's where he was raped left and right and cost them 2 of the goals.
