Plus as you said, the absolute state of the side this season was hardly conducive with being motivated and enthusiastic about starting discussions, posting in matchday threads during games (or even making them at all...), speculating about future games/run-ins/transfers/et al, etc.

Wouldn't care as much if I were sure they'd be succeeded by Puma, Under Armour, even Nike (whom I'm no fan of), or the like. But you just know we're gonna end up with effing Warrior or something Confirmation of our smalltime status.

Well, yea. One benefit of it may be that we'll at last get to have FULL true-blue kits again (well, not blue thread from head to toe, but you know what I mean). The white Adidas triple-stripes have robbed us of that all these years and it'll be nice to get it back. Anything even vaguely resembling that Roma one and I'll start believing in God and the risen zombie baby Jeebus again.
