AFC Ajax Empty AFC Ajax

Looking through all these topics and forums and I couldn't believe that there was no topic for Ajax previous to this one! One of the most successful clubs in the history of Europe, despite their current standing, deserves better! Home to a permanent European Champion's trophy (the 2nd team to do so) and the world's most famous youth academy, Ajax will still compete with the best despite an operating budget that is a fraction of theirs.

I can't say I'm overly impressed with the start Ajax has had to the season. Only players that really look like they're interested in trying are Cillessen, Klaassen and Schone. FdB keeps trying to force Andersen to the wing when he's not a winger, and hasn't really addressed Blind's departure (Viergever is not good enough IMO). Kimling will be a nice addition he made an instant impact against PSG. I still think that Ajax can be a good team this season but Fischer needs to come back (and find form) and FdB needs to be less stubborn.

I expect them to fight hard to get out of their group, as PSG is definitely beatable. The UEFA Youth League will be nice for Ajax as they have a very strong squad this year with the likes of Riedewald, Van de Beek, Bazoer, Nouri, Cerny, Dekker, Bay, etc. they pumped PSG 6 - 1 already.

PSV I can understand...Ajax have started fairly slowly and not looked convincing really in many of their games. Meanwhile PSV have the best team on paper in the Eredivisie this term by a fair margin IMO. Losing to Groningen like that though is a bit silly...they need to pick it up.
