Re: Official : Mario Balotelli signs for Liverpool
Even look at it from a pure numbers standpoint. Balotelli scored 30 goals and assisted 12 in 54 games for AC Milan over the last year and a half. That's welcome production on any team. Period. Even if he doesn't fulfill his potential I will take that any time because Rodgers will substitute him if he isn't playing well, and when he is playing well he will be allowed freedom to do so.

Re: Official : Mario Balotelli signs for Liverpool
It's a manna from heaven for Balotelli.
He got an upgrade in his career without great merits because he was enough mediocre this year included the WC , upgrade because he left a club in a difficult period not even qualified for EL for an ambitious club of Premier League who will play CL , who has a manager capable to exploit players as Gil said rightly before..
An unexpected upgrade , a player should be very motivated for this on paper , anyone would be it , but a costant in Balotelli's career has been to dissipate all good made by others for him , all good was got also by him . Dissipating . Wasting all . So foolishly
He was loved by Inter fans , but he chose to behave as an idiot when he got Raiola as agent, he even wore a Milan kit and he threw the Inter kit after Inter-Barcelona 3-1.
He was loved by Mancini , his first manager to City, the manager who made debutting him in Serie A, the manager who was better than Mourinho according him because " he is a father" , but he chose to betray also Mancini , he fought him too and at the end Mancini was obliged to sell him to Milan . Disappointed by him behaviour. Yes, father and son..
He was loved by Milan fans , his favourite team since he was child, the prodigal son , he is finally at his home, but the love lasted better than the Jacobin Republic . His lazy attitude cause hatred even to Milanisti . Milanisti who insulted him at stadium asking him to go away from Milan.

Re: Official : Mario Balotelli signs for Liverpool
Anyway I think Balotelli is more appreciated in England than in Italy ( now )
Raiola said a similar thing when all criticized Balotelli, he is often self-pitying person but I think this is true
I am Italian and when I read opinions of English blogs or here , I have also this sensation
This can help it too, but anyway , noone did never miss something to Balotelli , he dissipate it with his brain or for his agent , all rated him as important because he has talent.

For £16m that's a good signing. However it means Liverpool will have to play a diamond again. They should have stuck with a 4-3-3 imo and could have got goalscoring winger like Griezmann instead, earlier in the window.

The Liverpool love is different.
When he scores a last minute winner vs. R.Madrid in CL groups which makes Sportssczy cry and drive the fans crazy, then not even the love his gorgeous girlfriend will make to him that night will match that.
Welcome Mario

How will pool line up then?
4-1-2-1-2? Don't see how else they're going to fit Balo, Sturridge, Cou and Sterling in.

Only two strikers scored more than 20 in the PL last season.
Suarez and Sturridge..... Scoring 20 is a little more than good.
I'm talking all comps ffs, not just league. Most top strikers play in 3-4 competitions and their goals are aggregated. Balotelli played in 3 competitions last season too and at least 3 in every season he's been a pro. He's never gotten more than 18 goals for a club IN AGGREGATE.

We'll have a nice bench for a change.

Basically this is his role, the role where he gives his best , he must be the " 12nd player " in a top team , as in Inter or Manchester City ( he was legit in his period at Manchester imho)

Re: Official : Mario Balotelli signs for Liverpool
Christian Vieri has congratulated Milan CEO Adriano Galliani for seemingly managing to sell Mario Balotelli to Liverpool.
The deal, which should see the Italy forward join the Reds for around £16m, has divided opinion around the peninsula.
However, former Azzurri hitman Vieri made his feelings clear on social media this afternoon, saying that the Rossoneri are well shot of Balotelli.
“Today Galliani has played the biggest masterstroke in the history of Milan,” he wrote.

People do know Rodgers isn't a one trick manager right? Balotelli/Sturridge will be on the bench at times but they'll also play together.
Rodgers wasn't afraid to play a diamond, 352 & a host of other formations to keep managers guessing last season.

How many full seasons as he had as a starter? He never did at City or Inter so really he's had one full season as a starter.
Ok his numbers this season weren't great but he was playing with utter scrubs and basically a club in turmoil.
None of that fits into the agenda though ofc.

Liverpool has CL next year so the abundance won't be a great problem for them
Yes Sturridge and Balotelli will play also together
in that case Sturridge as CF and Balotelli "winger" ? He played so in Inter when we played with 4-2-3-1 under Mourinho and he gave his best in that role ... But in that period he knew the work rate, now I don't know

Re: Official : Mario Balotelli signs for Liverpool
scrubs??? Milan weren't a team of scrubs. They had plenty of talent to finish in the top 4. What they lacked was professionalism, teamwork and mutual respect. You don't just play the games... what you do in practice sets up how you do in a game. Balo has always been disgraceful in practice and off the pitch, which is why he always gets into trouble. Balo is not that destructive on the pitch anymore tbh (at least in terms of getting red cards ). It's everything else. A coach can't play him with everything that he does surrounding a game because it sets a double standard for the other players... how can you ask a player to show discipline and hard work and then start playing Balo?
And he got chance after chance at City to become the starter. Either his performance or his bad behaviour killed those chances. Truly disgraceful stuff. Why do you think Milan were desparate to get rid of him? Same reason. You can't have this kind of element undermining everything.
I see failure for him at Liverpool too btw. He'll go strong for 4-5 months and then go back to being who he is. Unless he shows a minimum level of professionalism.... the cycle can't be broken.

quite jealous of Liverpool tbh. As a big fan of Balotelli I am confident that a manager like Rodgers will improve him because however Balo is, he has mad talent in him. And rodgers is a fantastic manager who always improves players beyond people's imagination.
And best of all, we have a nutter in the PL after Suarez left Hoping for more lulz moments

Plus 10% of the sale. €14m total, Liverpool should just send it directly to us.
