16 mil isn't that big a gamble I guess. Not exactly a signing to be excited about though. He has about five good performances a season.

How can this guy do nothing else than humiliate himself for the entire season and still move from a great club to another is beyond me...

Let me put it in numbers... Balotelli has NEVER scored 20 goals (combined competitions) for a club in a season. He's only scored more than 15 twice: 17 for Man City and 18 for Milan.

Cisse, Ba and Remy have all produced a lot better (goals per game) than Balo ever has and they did it for Newcastle Meanwhile, Bale has failed at Inter, City and Milan.

Just to put things in perspective

Can't wait to see his meltdowns at the club. This could either be a potentially good move, or a bad one. He's a talented player but his attitude is poor.

He is absolutely lazy though. His work rate is that of a fat house cat. Ok, that was harsh and punishable by deduction but still, he really isn't worth the money or the time invested in him.

With that being said, all that baggage he comes with, his talent is undeniable. I wish Rodgers and Liverpool all the best if this signing comes to fruit.

well that's the thing. For example, Porto just bought Aboubakar, who scored 16 league goals last season for Lorient, for 10 million. Very talented, tireless on the pitch and only 22. He's not French so i have no bias here. This is a MUCH better gamble than Balotelli. Another better gamble, would have been to buy Bacca from Seville (probably would cost 20-25 mil).

But Balo? Seriously?? People have gambled on him going on 5 years now and have come up empty. He's not 20... he's 24. What's his excuse now?

He scored 26 in 43 for Milan, let's not act like he scrubbed it up and was an utter failure.

per game Mole. Newcastle doesn't play Europe. Remy scored 14 goals in 27 games (0.52) while Balo got 18 in 41 for Milan (0.44). Let's not even talk who was providing service lol... on one side you had Kaka, Montolivo, Honda, etc, and on the other, it was Moussa Sissoko with Cabaye gone in midseason Papis Cisse got 13 goals in 14 games his first year compared to 12 in 13 games for Balo in his first season

you yourself know you just not cant compare the stats like that...Balo has performed for a top team playing against top teams in top competitions, he has also performed NT level it is just that he is not consistent enough due to lack of motivation. That is where our BR's team comes in so it is sure worth the risk, for 30m€ it would have been more of a risk but for a club like us who cant pay 300k wages, we have to try something like this.

You're not a kid at 24, you're a grown ass man. Definitely was not a failure at Milan but I don't see the big success story in his time either.

Well, he doesn't need to score 20+ for Pool imo, they already have Sturridge doing some work there. If anything, i think they might use Balo to get defenders away from Sturridge and Sterling. Couple that with Balo's ability to facilitate passes from deep, i think it could work imo.

Drogba scored 20+ goals in all comps in 4 different seasons.   Balo has never done it lol.  And Drogba was well known to be a late bloomer mainly because he played on shat clubs before going to OM.  He was playing for clubs like Guinguamp and Le Mans (Ligue 2) before the age of 24.  

If you want to compare the current crop of top young strikers, look at Aguero, Benzema, Higuain, Suarez, Cavani, etc.  Benzema got 20 goals/20 assists in one season and everyone called him shat.  Balotelli has wet dreams about a season like that

Sterling,Hendo, Lallana, Marko. So I guess we should be just fine

Unfair comparison tbh, for starters the reason strikers score a lot for us is because of the direct style and boat load of crosses.

Which is more suitable for a striker than creativity really.
