Goalkeeper 2014/2015 Empty Goalkeeper 2014/2015

Post by redblack88 Tue Aug 05, 2014 7:13 am

Right now we have Abbiati, Agazzi and Gabriel. Abbiati is strong, but a bit old. Agazzi is an average GK, probably more fit for a smaller club. Gabriel is a bet and could become a great player potentially.

In the past few weeks, a number of GK have been reported close to AC Milan and recently I've heard that Perin is almost a Milan player (http://www.canalemilan.it/news/per-la-porta-e-in-arrivo-perin-130928).

If we have Perin, Abbiati, Agazzi and Gabriel, who is going to leave? And who will be the starting GK?

If no one arrives, I believe we'll see Abbiati retain his starting place unless he suffers a major injury.

If another option arrives, such as Perin, Lopez or Reina, they'll take the number one spot and I believe we'll see Gabriel leave on loan. Abbiati is on his final contract hopefully and has a great deal of experience, whilst Agazzi has only just arrived and hence I can't see him being sent away so soon.

If Lopez does come, I'm curious to see how he interacts with our backline. Only Rami understands Spanish, maybe he can translate to Italian? hmm

I really don't know why we don't sign a young GK (Scuffet or Perin). They'll be starting for 15 years and we won't have to worry about buying another GK.

Abra, I can speak for most here in saying that we absolutely love the soft spot you hold for our club as your fellow Chelsea fan (Kick) has frequently made his affection for Milan known and in these dark days, it is very much appreciated even if I may be exaggerating.

I would be happy with this too.
If there is one club where I'd like Cech to go (if he were to leave) It'd be Milan.

My Affection stems from a few things, my dislike of other Italian teams (Inter and juve) and my Australian friends who are Milan fans, Forza and Dosto.

Cech would be too good to be true tbh . BTW , what's with the Cech talk? Is he leaving Chelsea?

As for Diego Lopez , i am surprised how things turn out in Madrid. Before Keylor Navas signed , i thought they would keep Casillas as first option with Lopez 2nd.

Then Navas signs in and i was sure Casillas would leave , with Navas first and Lopez 2nd. Yet the opposite seems to happen . I mean it's Casillas , problems and what not , enduring yet another year on the bench wouldn't do for him , at least that's what i was thinking.

I kinda hoped we would go for Casillas if he became officialy available , but honestly , i haven't the slightest issue if we do get Diego Lopez , i'd be happy to see him sign for Milan. Compared to what we have right now , he should be by far the best candidate for n1 gk at Milan .

There have been small rumours all summer about Cech leaving, mostly because of Courtois and subtle things Jose has said (called Schwarzer a good No.2). I don't think Cech will leave, but like I said, if he were, Milan would be my choice.

I know you guys would appreciate him.

Milan have moved on to signing retired player Laughing

Seriously though, Lopez will be a good signing, shame he isn't younger.

Historically speaking, Spanish players don't perform well in Serie A. Hoping all these Gk rumors are just a smoke screen so we can sign Maccarone. Its time to come back home Massimo Proud

I've personally always thought that the only reason more Spanish players haven't thrived in Serie A is that the very best Spaniards tended to stay in their own league rather than moving to Italy, much the same with Italians and English players. Combine this with the fact that the absolute numbers of Spaniards playing in Italy is quite small and it's hardly surprising. There have been plenty of flops who were Brazilian or Argentinian but with so many players in the league they're forgotten as some are bound to star.

Di Marzio is reporting that Agazzi may head to Sassuolo should Lopez arrive.
