Re: The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II
Plus, would he leave a bench role there to occupy what he knows would be a similar bench role here? I doubt it.

Re: The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II
LvG said hes going to change his system with Di Maria coming in, if that means he plays with one up top (which i think he will tbh) then Hernandez is fourth choice (Wellbeck will get ahead of him just because hes English), and even if he were to play RvP up top and Shrek at 10 (which i doubt because he has Mata and Herrera) then he'd still be third choice.
Assuming Torres leaves (which is the only situation in which we would go for Hernandez) he would be second choice behind Costa, which is a much better situation then he'd be in a Utd

It's better no doubt, but is he looking for to be an outright starter every week is the question. Only he'll know that.

If he wants to be the first choice striker then hes going to have to move into the bottom half of the table or leave the PL

Re: The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II
Well that's the thing. Even at a Juve which has been a rumoured potential destination, I'm not sure he'd be automatic first choice.
He wouldn't be number one here but he'd still get a boatload of playing time. But again I go back to, I don't think United would sell to us, knowing the kind of quality he has. Their competence in the boardroom has sadly improved considerably since the glory of the Moyles era.

Palmeri says Chelsea representatives are currently meeting with Destro's delegates. Mourinho involved in it as well.

Chelsea race to complete Mattia Destro signing as Fernando Torres closes in on AC Milan move:
Chelsea officials met with Fernando Torres's representatives in an effort to thrash out a move to AC Milan, and will face a race again time to sign a replacement with José Mourinho lining up Roma's Mattia Destro for the role

Re: The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II
Surely the club wouldn't let Torres go (funny talking about us letting him leave ) without first finalising a deal for a replacement, especially just days before the window ends?

Re: The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II
never mind, i ve checked him through youtube library.
A poacher, cheaper falcao version who is younger and probably not plagued by chronic injuries.
It would be a good signing. why not, a good back up for the injured costa though not a replacement as he isnt technical.

Re: The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II
Actually, Destro's injury record is pretty bad.
Only played 20 games last season, and that is one of his better years.
Honestly Shed, I don't think Roma will stand in our way. Destro would (I am assuming here) jump at the chance to play in the EPL, for a big club like us. Roma wouldn't be able contend with us, wage wise and they could still have deadline day to bring a replacement in.
But I imagine we are already lining up Destro.

Re: The Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - Part II
then why him not some one else?
It's going to be interesting to see how we cope without the injured costa.
Gotta score goals and avoid losing points. If they wing it without costa and manage to win all points then odds are they can beat anyone with him.
cant afford to lose points. not even a single point against the biggest of competitor clubs. We win the league by march and shift our focus to CL. Let the reserve players play the rest of the season.

Costa will be fine for Everton He isn't injured.
Also, For Destro, there isn't many options, none as young and none as clinical in front of goal. He is the best option, imo.

Chelsea in for Remy again. Sounds logical and cheaper than the Italian option
