I dont think it's impossible, Santos president is politically driven, there is 0 incentives for him to talk about it, and when Neymar's agent himself is telling you that negotiations will resume in January, you know we have sill tied to him, this is a delay that was always a likely outcome.

I agree. It just shows the player is capable of doing the same to us. Even if you aren't satisfied with your club you should atleast show some manners and respect.

That's because it fits his agenda. No player should stand pat if the club is hosing them over. Aguero had no choice but to force Atelti's hand. Robinho and Tevez are just head cases... that i agree with.

Aguero signed an extension though. If he had no intention of honouring it he shouldn't have signed in the first place.

So Santos is forcing Neymar to choose sides as opposed to get this done amicably. Apparently, Neymar has already signed a contract with Madrid and Madrid is willing to pay the exit clause. The rule that prohibits a foreign club to force a sale with a player on his first 3-year contract and below the age of 28 is bypassed if there is an exit clause and the player elects to trigger the clause.

Ribeiro basically wants Neymar to look like the bad guy if he decides to leave. He has an election coming up and wants to look like a fighting general. Madrid was trying to protect the player and settle with the club.

But now the decision is completely up to Neymar. If he breaks the 5-year contract he signed earlier, he apparently would have to pay Madrid a big penalty. The contract can be triggered now or in January.

A lot of pressure on the kid.

I think it's always a delicate situation to bring in such a hyped player in january, unless you have injuries. the team is in full regime, everybody knows his role within the squad, Neymar would need attention, a lot of it, and i dont think it's ideal.

Besides, Santos doesnt want to let him go in January. They only used the CWC as the wrist, before pulling the arm. 2 months ago, they werent talking about the centenario.

On as I'm reading Santos have cooked up a new contract for neymar, increasing his salary to 7 million and raising his release clause to 55 million.
