I get not wanting to send players out with suspensions but you have to keep the game under control. You can't just let players foul without any warnings or punishment.

Karma, should have been 2-2, linesman raised his flag after the goal was scored by Colombia, no one was off-sides. FIFA did not want Brazil eliminated.

So Suarez bite which did no harm to Chiellini got a 4 months ban and now a nasty challenge which could permanently affect player might walk free. Dude said it's retaliation for the treatment handed out to James by Brasil >.< disgusting reason

As much as i hate Zuniga now, it's not worth a ban.Biting is something 100% dirty that has no place in a football pitch, it's not compared to what happened today where Zuniga was in a dispute for the ball.It was a dirty tackle, but not worth a Suarez-esque ban

From how he got hit into the back, I would suspect that a processus spinosus got broken, which fortunately isn't as bad as if the vertebral body gets damaged (in the latter case, the spinal cord is at risk).

Bad new for Neymar and Brazil.

It will be no fun Brazil without Neymar and Silva against Germany. Happy to hear that in few weeks Neymar will be back in action.

By the way, it is to be hoped that the next ref now will be a bit faster with the cards. IMO the injury wouldn't have happened if the referee wouldn't have been so lenient with bookings throughout the game. That way the players of course knew they could hack down their opponents  without fearing any bookings.

Interestingly this was mentioned in the German TV just before this match by Mehmet Scholl who was a bit annoyed that the referees allowed to many fouls and didn't protect the smallers flair players.

Was just about to mention Scholl's comment. And he's right. If you allow players to hack away, and elbow the shit out of each other, at some point in the late stages of a match, someone is going to get murdered.

I am heartbroken.

I wasn't buying the injury as serious when it happened. Neymar is the boy who cried wolf, with all the exaggeration and simulation he does.

Sucks for him he's out of the cup though. As big as my distaste is for some of his flopping around, I hate to see this happen to him. Hope he recovers fully.

I and everyone I was watching it with all screamed dive when he went down.

Kinda felt bad when I found out how serious it was.
