Re: Juventus 2014-2015 Preseason Thread
Yes, with about ten minutes to go Allegri brought on Pereyra for Lichsteiner and Juventus went to a flat back four but with Caceres and Asamoah both pushing high up the pitch.
Edit: At least in attack. Without the ball Pepe was defending quite deep on the right hand side but when possession was recovered he would move up the pitch and Caceres would advance into the space down the right hand side.

Re: Juventus 2014-2015 Preseason Thread
To be honest the side did look a tad static throughout the match but when one factors in the travelling that has been done recently by the team and two days of heavy training before the game it can be understood.
My greatest concern would be the manner in which the ball was delivered to Llorente and Tevez, there seemed to be a great deal of miscommunication between the front two and the midfield at times. There were a few moments when there were lovely one touch combinations but these were few and far between. I was hoping to see Juventus adopt a new shape for the match to give me a greater understanding of where Allegri might take the team and how he might address the issue of width but for now it felt like this was still Conte's side.

I agree dost. Hopefully we can adopt to a 4 man defence and play with a new attacking style.

Re: Juventus 2014-2015 Preseason Thread
I noticed 2 years ago that under Conte our idea of building up an attack was often really strange. The way in which the front 2 are isolated and forced to perform intricate 1-2's with their backs to goal which so, so often fails.
Mostly because in a 3-1-4-2 with Pirlo we have no real link from MF to attack, which is why Vucinic often made our play more fluid as he'd fill that role.
Can't wait until we get away from the back 3 alltogether, at least we're experimenting with a back 4 and I think by the half way stage this season unless we're getting amazing results with the 3-5-2 it will become our secondary formation.

Ogbonna is such a liability. I'm glad Milan missed out on him.

With Massimiliano Allegri’s men expected to return from the club’s Asia-Pacific tour this coming Sunday, the players will make the short trip to Villar Perosa for their annual friendly against the Primavera on Tuesday 20 August.
Villar Perosa’s Stadio Comunale will once again expect to have a packed house for the game, which will also be screened live on Sky Sport 1 and Sky Calcio 1 from 17.00 CET.
In addition to being on hand to build up to the clash from 15.30, Juventus official TV channel Jtv will also provide post-match analysis as soon as the final whistle blows. The channel will also screen a full rerun of the match from midnight.

Re: Juventus 2014-2015 Preseason Thread
http://www.juventus.com/juve/en/news/juve-overcome-jetsOn the team’s final day in Australia, Massimiliano Allegri took the opportunity to run the rule over his players’ condition during a 70-minute friendly, with A-League outfit Newcastle Jets providing the opposition at Jubilee Oval.
Clear-cut chances were few and far between throughout the encounter, won 1-0 by the Bianconeri courtesy of Sebastian Giovinco’s first-half strike.
Summer recruit Kingsley Coman looked lively in the opening stages, showing some neat touches and skills in the final third and drawing a save from the opposition goalkeeper on 11 minutes .
However, it was his strike partner, Giovinco, who put the Bianconeri in front ahead of the midway point, ghosting past his marker before calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner on 26 minutes.
While the Australians pushed to get back into the affair, it was Juventus who remained in firm control. Neither Storari nor his replacement Rubinho were troubled by any efforts from inside the area, while Simone Pepe and Sergio Buenacasa both had chances to extend the lead in the second half.
With the curtain now officially brought down on their Australian adventure, the Bianconeri will return to their hotel tonight before departing for the third and final leg of this summer’s Asia-Pacific tour, Singapore, tomorrow morning.
Juventus starting XI: Storari (Rubinho), Motta, Marrone, Chiellini, Pepe, Pereyra, Padoin, Vitale (Blanco), Asamoah, Giovinco, Coman (Buenacasa).

Coman
Hope he gets plenty of chances this season, if not in the CL as a starter than in every cup game and any games before CL matchday.

So was Marrone used as a central defender in a back four? I could certainly see him fulfilling the role of a sweeper but it surprises me to see him even experimented with in a back four.

Re: Juventus 2014-2015 Preseason Thread
dat dere 4-3-3, however Pereyra hasn't really impressed me at all in pre-season, even in his supposed "di Maria" role
Mehbgonna and Mehnucci looking good in a back 4 still I'd sell if an offer came...
King Coman plssss,
Llorente and Pogsy looked quite meh in he first half
Evra and 4-3-3 (insert fap emo)

Re: Juventus 2014-2015 Preseason Thread
Pogba
we are seriously a nicer team in a 4-3-3 than a 3-meh-2
finally some fair and pace
Papa Tomas 4-3-3 at last
hope Llorente can adjust quicker or he could lose his spot to Morata who has better pace and passing
good game to, anyone know why Coman and Tevez didn't play?
