nobody thinks the swiss are crap tho.
they didn't lose a single game in the qualifiers and according to fifa, they're the 6th best team in the world.
in fact many GL " experts " thought that they were dark horses in this WC....

France are looking pretty good, that will be a very tough quarter.
Maybe so, but they are still better than Honduras, Ecuador and arguably the Swiss too.
Technically Germany will face tougher opposition in the group stage, if they have any problems is another debate entirely.
I really don't think so. Did you see their game? Was terrible, USA are arguably the team with the least footballing ability in the tournament and Ghana looked very disorganised.
Haven't seen Ecuador, but Honduras and Switzerland are surely better than those two.
You have no clue what you are talking about. Honduras is not and hasn't been better than USA. Let alone 'surely" better. It isn't even up for debate. USA beat them 3-1 the last time the played a few months ago even. But proceed with your German arrogance. We all know where that got you in WW2 and earlier this season with your hilarious bayern shit talking. You looked like a fool.

Re: World Cup: Group E discussion
Well, today they were unlucky as Steve van Bergen who normally keeps the defense together was injured early plus the players that were subbed in last time and started today just didn't work well as starters. Plus Hitzfeld used Djourou + Senderos as CBs when they were shaky at best and left Fabian Schär on the bench.farfan wrote:in fact many GL " experts " thought that they were dark horses in this WC....
@Magic Spray: Leave the war out of this discussion. It's not funny when the Sun does it and it is less funny when users here do it.

Yes because i think USA/Ghana might be better than Switzerland i'm not sure which is why i said arguable....
Means i think Switzerland are shit, USA/Ghana are not shit and neither are Switzerland.
Poor reading comprehension is strong with this forum.

can't argue with that lol.
Dear Leader, Ghana used to be pretty good but this time, in their first game, they really were very disappointing.
So ok, it was wrong to call them flat out crap, but they were crap in their first game.
As were the US, sorry I know you boys have hope but there's just nothing there.
Will have my big hairy stinking foot in my mouth now if we indeed struggle against them

well a " dark horse " shouldn't crumble like that just because one or two good players were missing .
and just imagine ribery with all that space ... or even griezmann had he started the game on the left wing.

Re: World Cup: Group E discussion
Well... Honduras drew Mexico and beat them in the 2 WCQ games. Against the US, they lost 2-1 and 1-0. They beat Costa Rica and lost the second game.
So if you're comparing Honduras to the other CONCACAF teams in the WC, Honduras won 2, lost 3 drew 1 with a GD of -1. So i don't see how you can say Honduras is so far off the US and Costa Rica.
But again... since it's France who's looking dominant, it has to be the opponent's fault and France can't be that good

I'm not saying you will struggle against them..... ignore the Switzerland comment for a moment.
USA/Ghana are both better than Honduras and Ecuador which means Germany will have faced tougher tests in the group stage that's all i said.
Can't believe the discussion turned into this

haha. sorry, I'm a bit in a overcombative mood.
Guess you're right, though Honduras to me looked like a very unpleasant team to play, while Ghana was inconceivably bad, given the players they have and how good I remember them.

Suffered a mild pulled hamstring today, but no tearing. French med team think he may make the next game but would miss 1 game at the most.
Personally, i think it's a 10 day injury. So he misses next game for sure and probably comes back from the first elimination round game.

No point risking Sakho in a meaningless game, i'd be inclined to rest anyone important on a yellow card too.

In spite of all my hating on French players I did say they were underrated and expected them to do well
They have one of the best defenses and that's what takes you deep in knock out tournaments. I did not expect the midfield to work so well though. Always liked DD as well.

BC
Not sure why you were skeptical of the midfield though, Cabaye is always great for France and Matuidi/Pogba speaks for itself.
Plus Valbuena like Cabaye has been fantastic for France for a long period of time.

Re: World Cup: Group E discussion
France aren't that great . They are just a good counter attacking team . like Germany 4 years ago . Like Germany they will probably record a few incredible results but in the end go out in the quarters or semis .
Benzema is an incredible player tho
