Di Maria the Angelic Beast was the Man of The Match, but before the extra time there was one clear Best Player on the Pitch:

Gabriel Luis "Gabi" Fernandez Arenas

Calm like a cool-box on the ball.
Crazy like a chasing-dog off the ball.


People know about Diego Costa and many football purists have applauded Koke and Filipe Luis, but last night it was all about the skipper. He tormented Madrid players on and off the ball, until his physical power was unable to match up to his will power.


Many have sympathized on Real Madrid for their La Decima, but it was to be expected, it was not catching my heart. This elegant warrior does.
