He's like the 5th best player on the team.

Gil presents a valid question here, Ganso. Given that Costa since accepting that he is an Españole, he has made leaps and bounds as a player.
Provided the double is complete, it would not be a bad choice.

Didn't prevent Ribery from making the podium.

He scored the winning goal in a CL semi-final but apparently he's the 3rd best player on the team. Hell, he even has a great chance at WC glory this summer especially if he finishes as the top scorer.
The reactions and sharpness to win the killer penalty was amazing.

Except Ribery was by far Bayern's best player last season, Robben would have a say if he wasn't a non existent point till March.
Anyway i'm going to be serious for a second.... HELL NO.
He has absolutely nothing to do with them beating Chelsea and Barca and all season long he's been shat against the elite.
Atleti are there because of elite coaching, their system and lots of key contributions from many players.
But of course we have to deal with questions like this with GLs resident Forrest Gump.

Re: Should Costa win the Balon D'or?
Ronaldo flopped against Barca and Chelsea. Missing two penalties in the proccess the season he won his first Balon D'or.
If Costa wasn't an ugly piece of shit he'd have more people on his side. He didn't even play particularly poorly, definitely put in a better performance than Ibra and Suarez did against us.

He does have an unfortunate looks, like he's about 20 years older than he is.

Re: Should Costa win the Balon D'or?
Well he is their main striker. There main man upfront. And might be for Spain as well this summer. And people usually use the logic, "well Cristiano is going to win the Ballon D'or if he leads Madrid to CL glory" or "Oh no, Messi, is going to win it if he finally wins a World Cup with Argentina."

He wasn't their best player at all.
Bayern are there because of elite coaching, their system and lots of key contributions from many players.
See what I did there?
Bayern had a perfect thing going. The hunger after bottling the CL final at home, Heynckes' counterattacking system with the Schweinsteiger-Martinez double pivot physically bullying teams and Robben, Müller and Gomez all banging the goals in. Ribery was just the guy with the most flair and dribbling skills besides Robben who was however not taken seriously anymore because of his multiple choking jobs in 2010 or 2012. Yeah, Ribery was good but not Ballon d'Or good while none of his teammates came close. Campaigning for Diego Costa for Ballon d'Or would be absolutely compareable. Actually it flatters Ribery. Because unlike Ribery, Costa has been directly responsible for 1/3 of the goals Atletico scored in the CL and La Liga.
Inb4 Ribery tracks back. LBibery.

Nah winning the Ballon d'Or isn't based on team trophies. Ronaldo has been better this season.
