We currently have no manager, and we don't operate with a director of football. The new manager might not even want those players.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Lukas Podolski admits he is open to returning to former side Koln but insists he is happy at Arsenal.
The striker joined the Gunners from his boyhood club in 2012 in a deal worth €13.4 million and was in attendance last week as Koln secured their return to the Bundesliga with a win over Bochum.
And Podolski, who recently admitted he was "not happy" at regularly being substituted during Arsenal games, has hinted at a possible move back to Koln for a third spell in the future.
"The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world and therefore, in principle, is always interesting," he told Transfermarkt.
"In the Bundesliga, my thoughts naturally turn first to [Koln]. That is much more than a club for me, this is my home. Maybe I'll return one day; that is, for me, always an option and matter of the heart."
Podolski has struggled with form and fitness this season, with the club open to offers for the 28-year-old, but after four goals in his last two outings the forward is happy to remain at the club.
"[I have an Arsenal contract] which I would also like to fulfil," said the German
"But, as I said, you never know in football. Sometimes everything happens very quickly."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has described Lionel Messi's contractual situation at Camp Nou as "shocking".
The Argentina international signed a deal with the Blaugrana in February of last year that bound him to the Catalan club until 2018.
There has been talk of an extension in recent weeks but current Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed last Sunday that the club are merely planning "a modification to his existing contract", namely improved terms.
Laporta, though, is staggered that the Blaugrana have yet to tie their four-time Ballon d'Or winner down to a deal that would keep him at Camp Nou for the rest of his career.
"It’s shocking the Messi situation still hasn’t been resolved," the ex-Barca supremo told Cuatro. "If it were down to me, Leo would be a cule forever.”
Laporta also argued that last summer's star signing, Neymar, should not take any blame for his difficult first season in Spain, given his transfer from Santos is the subject of an ongoing investigation that prompted Sandro Rosell's resignation as president.
"[Neymar] is the victim of bad management by the current board," he declared.
When pressed on the possibility of running for re-election, Laporta added: "At the end of the season I’ll voice my intention regarding Barca."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is expected to join Monaco despite the serious knee injury suffered earlier this season.
There was a loophole in the contract between the player and the club that could have allowed either party to break the agreement, Mundo Deportivo has reported, but the deal is expected to be finalised without issue.
It had been suggested that Valdes could break the contract in order to sign for Manchester City, said to be one of several Premier League teams interested in his services, but he has decided to stay with Monaco.
Valdes will earn €12m per year from the Ligue 1 side and be reunited with former Barca teammate Eric Abidal.
Monaco, meanwhile, view Valdes as one of the most important players they can sign in their attempt to establish themselves as one of Europe’s elite and rival champions and current League leaders Paris Saint-Germain on the domestic stage.
Valdes torn his cruciate ligament against Celta Vigo and a date for his return to action has not yet been confirmed.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Zenit St Petersburg have been in contact with Fiorentina and Udinese regarding Juan Cuadrado, reports suggest.
Sky Sport Italia have revealed this morning that the Russian side have made enquiries about the Colombia international, with the intention of making an offer over the summer.
The Viola wide-man, who is also co-owned by the Zebrette, has been heavily linked with a switch abroad in recent months.
Barcelona, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are all clubs that are thought to be interested in the 25-year-old.
But Andre Villas-Boas’ men are believed to be the first to have made solid enquiries about Cuadrado.
Negotiations will be complicated however, considering the South American’s current contract situation.
The Tuscan and the Friuli outfits both own 50 per cent of his registration, and will have to separately agree on fees.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Mario Gomez could be on his way back to Germany, with reports that Fiorentina are losing patience with the perennially injured striker.
The 28-year-old has only played nine League games this season after a series of knee injuries have kept him sidelined for the majority of the campaign.
And according to Corriere dello Sport, the Viola are thought to be considering potential €20m offers from Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg for the goalscorer.
The paper suggests that the Della Valle family who own the club would be willing to make their money back on Gomez, and reinvest for a forward who has a better fitness record.
The final decision however, will be down to Coach Vincenzo Montella, who is thought to be keen on keeping the German international.
The Tuscan outfit have been plagued by striking woes in 2013/14, with Giuseppe Rossi also a long-term absentee.
Both are currently racing to be fit for the Coppa Italia final next month, and this summer’s World Cup.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits talks with Bacary Sagna "are not progressing" and believes the future of the full-back is out of his hands.
Sagna's current deal at the Emirates Stadium will expire at the end of the season, meaning he can depart the club on a free transfer if fresh terms are not agreed.
A deal was believed to be close to being agreed, but Wenger is concerned by the delays with the likes of Manchester City and Serie A outfit Inter linked with interest.
"Talks are not progressing," he said ahead of Monday's encounter with Newcastle United. "The ball is not in our court anymore and he has to come back to us [with an answer]."
While Sagna could be heading for the exit door, Wenger was also asked about incomings and the possibility of a deal for striker Loic Remy, who is currently on loan at Newcastle from QPR.
But Wenger refused to be drawn on whether a move was imminent, adding: "He is a good striker. But we are focused on the end of the season, not on strikers."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Both Juventus and Napoli are looking to strengthen their squads with players deemed surplus to requirements by Barcelona.
Napoli’s long-standing interest in Javier Mascherano may bear fruit, while the Bianconeri are hopeful of bringing Alexis Sanchez to Turin.
Sport.es report that there are a number of Barcelona players who are deemed ‘transferable’ by the Spanish side including Mascherano, Sanchez, and the Spanish pair of Cesc Fabregas and Pedro Rodriguez.
It is thought that the Catalan club would consider any offers for those players, which might allow them the opportunity to move to Italy in return for money that would allow them to strengthen their squad in light of the lifting of their transfer ban.
Mascherano, courted by the Partenopei, worked with Rafael Benitez at Liverpool previously and it is known that Napoli have been trailing the Argentinian for some time.
Sanchez grew to prominence at Udinese and although he has made 84 appearances for Barcelona, has been linked with the Bianconeri by a number of sources recently.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
Mateo Kovacic has backed the Inter hierarchy to make a move for Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko in the summer transfer window.
The Giuseppe Meazza side are keen to add some more firepower to their squad at the end of the season and have been linked with a number of strikers, including Dzeko, Chesea's Fernando Torres and Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has a contract with City until the summer of 2015, but Kovacic is hopeful the 28-year-old could be the man to take Inter to the next level in 2014-15.
"Inter are missing a top player. I would go for Edin Dzeko," the Croatia international was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"He is technically strong, scores a lot of goals and is always ready to help out the team defensively."
The youngster then went on to discuss his future and insisted that he is not thinking about leaving Inter in the near future.
"I am feeling very well here at Inter. I am only thinking about the last four games of the season and the World Cup."

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has vowed to "never force a transfer" if the club do not wish to sell him.
The Frenchman has reportedly been the subject of interest from reigning Premier League champions Manchester United and Arsenal this season after catching the eye with some impressive displays in the top flight.
Schneiderlin is aware that other clubs are keeping check on Southampton's highly-rated stars, but the 24-year-old is not looking to engineer a move.
"We know top teams are watching us," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
"As long as we don't receive a concrete offer, and as long as the club says they won't sell, I will never force a transfer."

Southamption president Les Reed wrote:I'd like to clear up the speculation in the press about our players. That is my responsibility. As we stand, there have been no enquiries, and we have had no bids, and we have had no offers for any of our players.
That is accurate; that is the truth. That is exactly where we are. Reports that we are about to close deals on certain players and so on are totally misinformed, misleading, and are not true.
That will remain so. As far as the policy is concerned, we've had a great season. We want to build on that season. We want to improve the squad going forward.

It’s reported Cagliari have set a €10m price-tag on defender Davide Astori, who is wanted by Roma, Milan, Tottenham and Manchester United.
The Italy international has been linked with a transfer for almost two years now, but always remained in Sardinia.
According to reports, this summer will be the right time for him to move on to pastures new, most likely the Premier League.
According to La Nuova Sardegna newspaper, President Massimo Cellino wants at least €10m to part company with Astori.
Roma had reportedly offered around €6m in a proposal that was rejected outright this week.
Milan, Manchester United, Tottenham and Southampton are also interested in the 27-year-old.

The Corriere dello Sport claims Liverpool will target Juventus striker Carlos Tevez if Luis Suarez leaves.
Tevez only joined the Bianconeri last summer for €9m (£7.9m) from Manchester City, scoring 18 goals in 30 Serie A games so far this season.
According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, the 30-year-old is the first name on Liverpool’s shopping list if hitman Suarez decides to walk away from Anfield.
Although Tevez has Premier League experience with West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City, he also ran into a series of personal issues in England.
This move seems to be extremely unlikely, particularly as Suarez rejected offers to leave Liverpool last summer and is now on the verge of winning the Premier League with Champions League qualification.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
It’s reported Ajax are trying to poach Milan’s 15-year-old superstar in waiting Hachim Mastour.
The creative midfielder has been on the radar for quite some time and is seen as the bright future of both Milan and Italy.
According to Calciomercato.com, Mastour has caught the eye of Ajax, who are eager to put him into their legendary youth academy.
He has a goal in four games for Italy at Under-16 level and will turn 16 in June, having joined the Rossoneri from Reggiana in 2012.
The San Siro club paid just €0.5m for him two seasons ago and it’s reported Ajax are offering €1m.
Mastour already has a big profile in world football, as the 15-year-old made a series of films for Red Bull showing off his tricks and skills.
His parents hail from Morocco, but he was born in Reggio Emilia and said he wants to play for Italy.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. II
There are reports Inter President Erick Thohir wants to sign Alessandro Del Piero for his MLS club DC United.
The ex-Juventus legend is considering his future at Sydney FC and said he’s determined to play on for at least another year.
Meanwhile, Australian media claim Sydney have only offered Del Piero a contract extension if he joins the club staff or even becomes the new Coach.
He is most likely to head for America with several Major League Soccer clubs very eager to snap up Pinturicchio.
According to the latest reports from Italy, DC United are leading the race for Del Piero thanks to the efforts of patron Thohir – who is also President of Serie A side Inter.
They play their football in Washington DC and could be helped by Adidas, who sponsor the team.
