I always wondered when this would be made into a movie. Man those feels when I go see this because as a wrestler Dave Schultz was a hero of mine growing up.

Nothing about 21 Jump Street can be labelled "amazing" to be honest. It was a thoroughly mediocre movie.Freeza wrote:Tatum has amazing comedic timing, if you can't see that then you need to watch 21 jump street and this is the end. He is also quite decent in Magic Mike. He has improved so much since he started acting.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Well, humor is one of the most subjective things there is in a movie, and I really though it was a great comedy. The best one in 2012 in my opinion. It has received great reviews for a comedy of its kind, and all my friends love it. Channing was the best part about that movie, after Rob Riggle who I really like in a supporting comedy role.RedOranje wrote:Nothing about 21 Jump Street can be labelled "amazing" to be honest. The greatest role Tatum ever played was in This is the End.

"Humour" as in the style of jokes certainly is subjective, but actual acting and line delivery generally aren't...Freeza wrote:Well, humor is one of the most subjective things there is in a movie, and I really though it was a great comedy. I agree that Tatum has improved a lot. He was good in Magic Mike. Speaking of him, he is confirmed to play Gambit in X Men Apocalypse. Might even get a Gambitt spinoff movie.

Why isn't Cyclops appearing in the recent X-Men movies?

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Going to watch DOFP tomorrow, hope me makes an appearance in the end of some sort. He's my favourite of the X-men, and he was just a whiny jealous boyfriend in the movies, which pained me to see. I'm positive he didn't die in the last stand, since we never saw him die, they kept the option for him to return open, and I think he'll show up in age of apocalypse.McAgger wrote:Why isn't Cyclops appearing in the recent X-Men movies?

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
There's no Ledger performance in it, but really the number of movies with a performance on that level, is a very little one. But I think the ratings will be legit, the RT one is legit, and I don't know how anyone can judge this film as rotten, probably some critic with a shitty day.Valkyrja wrote:Freeza wrote:X-Men DOFP.. I would rate it up there with the two first Nolan Batman movies, best Marvel movie I have seen so far, really hope this sets an example for things to come.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Regarding the end credits:
Well most RT ratings have about 200 ratings and it is half way there and still holding strong at 92%, interesting to see what the final ratings due to the number but I wouldn't see it dropping below 87% honestly on par with First Class the highest rated X-Men movie next to X2.
It was a great movie and just makes me that much more excited for Guardians of the Galaxy. I would still say Avengers is the measure of all great comic movies now and RT ratings seem to reinforce that with a 92% on 301 reviews. Crazy.
- Spoiler:
- Apocalypse

- Spoiler:
- Hardly remember it anymore... there was this lady gathering a pyramid or something? Was it just one of the Horsemen then?
Looking forward to the next one already, is it going to be set in the 80's or something, so we can have the new cast, or is there some way they can mix the two? Are they keeping the timephasing thing? Any comics with Apocalypse that I should read?

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
- Spoiler:
- Basically the scene opens on the expansive sands of the Sahara desert. The camera pans behind a hooded figure standing on the dunes, arms raised. In the background, we can hear the chanting of a huge crowd all calling the same words. The words are indistinct, but the chanting seems rapturous
Then we see a pyramid, half-completed. Huge stones lift themselves in the air and begin to reconfigure in complex, Rubik's-cube like fashion, completing the pyramid in seconds. The camera pans around to reveal the face of the hooded figure. It is a young, thin man with chalk white skin and deep blue lips. Across his shoulder, you can see the silhouettes of four mounted riders (Four Horsemen) and then the scene cuts to black.
While it is hard to tell, it sounds like the people might be chanting En Sabah Nur which is the given name of Apocalypse meaning "The First One."

Saw the new X-Men movie.
While I can appreciate that it is a very well made film for some reason it just didn't quite click for me. Definitely worth seeing but likely won't make my list of tops for the year.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
The plot was always going to be very convoluted and tough to wrap your head around at times, but for me it was the little things.
Beyond that, I thought this was pretty good in all honesty.
- Spoiler:
- Still very confused with the appearance of Alex Summers (Havok)....he's YOUNGER Scott's brother in the comics ffs so why is he a 20-something in Vietnam? This would effectively make him old enough in present day for him to be Scott's father. There needs to be more explanation around that as I really didn't get it in First Class and I sure as hell don't get it now.
The Quicksilver scenes were obviously some of the best of the movie, but again, it's the little stuff. Why the name change to Peter from the original Pietro? Where did the little brother come from? It's always suspect to have him in a movie like this with absolutely no mention of Scarlet Witch. It also creates image problems as now we're going to see 2 completely different Quicksilvers when the next Avengers movie comes out. I see the necessity of his presence here in X-men, but the execution was lacking. I did love the little, subtle hint of the father/son moment he and Magneto had though
Beyond that, I thought this was pretty good in all honesty.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Just saw 'Two Lovers' and WOW WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MOVIE. One of the best romantic dramas I've seen.
Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely phenomenal. Never have I seen a film where he disappoints. Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw are magnificently beautiful.
Absolutely recommend it, but you have to be in that dramatic romance zone otherwise you might not see the full beauty of the film.
Also rewatched The Town this weekend. As brilliant as I remember it. 9/10 recommend it.
