I was so dissapointed of Wickhams performance tonight, gave no effort at all to change the outcome.

RODGERS OUT. Still hasn't beaten a team above us in the league

Save it for City. That's who you need to beat.

Tbf everyone and anyone has beaten Yanited.
Everton had half a team out injured, Lukaku was injured early in the game and everybody knows how threadbare their squad is.
I'll give you Arsenal though.

Firstly, you have to specify which Chelsea fan you're referring to because some of us - like myself - didn't expect a title this season so if we do win it its a bonus for me and I'm just enjoying the ride right now.Natalie Portman wrote:The tears of those Chelsea fans when we go above them this weekend.

Secondly, I guarantee you not one Chelsea fan is scared of Liverpool. If anything, we're "scared" of City who are guaranteed to go above us if they win all their games in hand.
Thirdly, you're assuming that we'll lose/draw against Cardiff while you're guaranteed to win. That's quite interesting. I wonder why we'd go and drop points against Cardiff right after pummeling Arsenal same Cardiff that lost 3-6 to Liverpool this weekend Apparently Chelsea won't be able to beat them Very interesting
Let's all wait and see, shall we?

For all our hunger to rack up the goals, once again our defence was caught ball-watching for Ki's goal and for an open miss to which Antiscore could have just as well scored on. If this ball-watching and poor marking continues, we might as well set sail to our title chances goodbye.
Same problems from Cardiff to which our defence is carried away from the cushion that is provided by our goals. We cannot afford such complacency in defence.
has Coutinho really played so well ?
good choice to put him as starter and not Sterling considering the scenario of the match , a home match against a closed defence and no counterattacks

Only Distin and Coleman were missing from their usual starting 11. While we have KOLO TOURE and CISSOKHO starting.
We destroyed Everton, that this almighty Chelsea that everyone says are favourites and AMAZING, barely beat by a last minute Howard clanger.
We've been boss. When we win the league, people will admit it. No problems by me whatsoever.

No mate. When we were in and around top 4, we were most Chlesea fans' (in this forum) little cute club who they wouldn't mind doing well. Gil constantly wanking over us, and more. But now that we are becoming a threat to you guys by an incredible winning streak, the same guys are bringing it down, and downplaying it. Obviously concerned, that's normal. But it's so hypocrite of them .
It's like having a hot girlfriend, and you introduce your cute cousin to her. your cusin is a nice guy, you can never imagine him stealing your bird, because you don't think he has the game to pull it off. but one day you wake up and see you are in risk of losing your bird and then start bad mouthing your cousin you used to big up in front of her.
And you aren't playing Cardiff, you're playing Palace . I'm just playing mind-games and think you'll win, but your worst games this season has been against relegation fodder away from home, so it'll be tricky. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.
Hope that cleared things mate

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V9
Deulofeu's a starter mate and Barkley just came back from a broken foot he might as well have not been there.
Combine that with Lukaku having to be replaced by Naismith in 25th minute.
They clearly were at a very weak state and who you played is irrelevant because your squad is of much superior level to them.
Stones, Alcaraz, Pienaar, Naismith and a 10% fit Barkley ffs
You have been great this season though, but it would be stupid to deny they were heavily weakened that night.

Deulofeu wasn't a starter at the time, if memory serves. He's come on relatively recently but at that point he was still being rotated/used off the bench.

I'm glad other LFC fans are quite confident of beating City, Chelsea, and Spurs at Anfield... because I'm not.

The reason we struggled a bit tonight was because Sunderland played 5 men in defense and deep as hell.
Spurs on the other hand, play a RIDICULOUSLY high line without the pressing to go for it. I said before that tonight will be tougher than Sunday.
In fact, I had the chance to go to pub to watch the game either today or sunday, and I picked sunday, because I was before confident the performance level and result will be better on Sunday.
Cheer up red. The only unbeaten team in Europe in 2014 (bar Bayern), 7 wins on the bounce, 1 point off first. Embrace the pressure and inhale confidence. It's fun mate

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V9
Today's result isn't really a factor in my trepidation. They're simply quality teams that all have solid arguments for why they can end our unbeaten run. Spurs are performing better away from WHL this season. Chelsea and City can both be reasonably argued to be better sides overall.
Eventually the run will come to an end and I guess I'm just out of practice in being optimistic to believe it will hold out for the rest of the season.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V9
OK so not to dredge up old arguments, but I only get to post once a day:
I wasn't saying that we deserved 3 points against Chelsea. I even put my real point in parentheses so people wouldn't miss it, but they managed anyway.
I was simply saying that bad decisions happen against everyone, and that maybe, when you're several games removed from said bad decision, you should stop bitching about it. If you really want to talk about it more, do it in your team's section, but seriously - nobody wants to hear it anymore.
That was the entirety of my point, nothing more, nothing less.

Several games removed? That game was literally the game before the Arsenal game Still VERY recent. Not like it happened in January or something, calm down.

I'd be very interested to see how Liverpool fair next season against deep lying teams, they won't underestimate them like they have this year.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V9
Allen was completely clueless today and couldn't exploit the space available to him. Against scrubs like Sunderland, who come to Anfield with a draw in mind, playing a midfield of Hendo-Gerrard-Allen sounds a bit too cautious for me. We clearly have been much more efficient with Coutinho in Allen's place and another forward (Sterling) upfront against such teams, previously. Although I do agree why BR felt the need to start Allen, since he has been on quite a run recently.
Don't get me wrong though. Allen is definitely a crucial player to rely upon when facing sides with much better midfields for ball retention and recycling.

Personally I'm quite worried about Liverpool, as we have CL to deal with and we don't know what the after math will be after a CL game.
I think it is between City and Liverpool as I expect Chelsea to tail off due to lack of rotation, I mean Hazard never gets ANY rest.

Sturridge has 30 goals in 37 starts.
He also "steps up" against his former clubs.
Could be interesting, but Mourinho's will somehow inevitably manage to make us drop points at Anfield. :S
