Everybody underestimating Atleti Laughing

Atleti know they don't have a squad for the league so they will rest everyone for the CL. If Atleti manage to play like they did in their recent game, Barca can go on for another ten games and still not score

predicting either team to go through on away goals

Simeone does not believe they can win the league because they don't have the squad for it. Last time they rested guys before a big game they got slaughtered 2-0 by an inferior team. He is going to overly rest his players before the Barca CL game and they will drop points guaranteed. A rested Atleti team will be tough very tough to break down

no one is underrating Atletico, but you cannot forget their depth is their main weakness.
they will be very fatigued and pressured to keep up points in la liga and managed to beat Barca.

it's utter bs i cant believe u listen to that crap. People have said that all season about atletico and look how far they have come. Simeone says in EVERY press conference that they are going game by game. If Atletico suddenly find themselves leading la liga late in the season they will go for it, it's as simple as that. They will play as hard as they can everywhere because that's just who they are.

Atleti are barely beating teams with their first team forget b team. in a league alongside barca/real they need to win nearly all the games to even have a chance of winning the league. Atleti are like a rowing boat in a sea with heavy tides, it's a matter of time before they lose point because of the lack of squad depth (they should have lost against Espanyol last weekend at home). In CL they don't even need to win games to win the whole thing lol. I can safely say they will be focusing on CL

Barca got this. Atletico will make it as difficult as possible but I am confident of barca winning over two legs.

Victor Valdes has claimed that Barcelona have a good chance of beating Atletico Madrid after the two were drawn together in the Champions League.

The Blaugrana were handed a quarter-final clash with the Rojiblancos this afternoon, and the goalkeeper has insisted that his men can make it to the Last Four.

“Knowing that all the teams in the quarter-finals were group stage winners, it was always going to be a difficult draw whoever we got,” he told reporters.

“[Atlético] have already shown this season when they played us that they are a very hard-working and dangerous group.

“You can see the influence that [Coach Diego] Simeone has had on them. They take advantage of dead-ball situations which is something we have had trouble dealing with this season.

“Having said that, if we play our usual game and [don't concede in the first leg], we will have the chance to get through.”

Barca got this. Simeone never beat Barca and Atletico have already failed to beat them four times this season. This time will be no different.

Atleti haven't beaten us since Feb. 14 2010. :coffee:

Anyways they do have the tools to beat us, but this game is ours to lose. I wouldn't mind being eliminated by them, better them then Germans, or English.

As I said they do have the tools to beat us, but its ours to lose. I think our possession base football measure up good against them and gives us the better chance compared to you guys.

Can't see it being a highscoring game at all. Barca struggle to create chances vs Atletico and Atletico lack the individual quality to trouble Barca whenever they have the ball. It'll be close.

I predict there will not be more than 2 goals in these 2 games combined.
Lots of diving, fights etc..
Also a winner to be determined by away goals.

Messi loves scoring against Atletico Madrid, and three games he played against them this year were right after coming back from injury / out of form (beginning of summer)
but as said above Atletico will do very good the first game I would say, perhaps leave it at a draw but come second match, they will be dead tired.

Im pretty confident about this. Quite happy we didnt get some of the others. I think they will be extremely up for this though, so we will need to be too. Again I dont want first leg cautious play. Just play normal and go for it at our best level and we will win.
