Halilovic signs for us
Will play at Barcelona b next season. He has confirmed it on the internet.
For once, I'm impressed with Zubi. If he has a reasonable price, he can be a very good signing.
Rumoured price is 5 millions with incentives of up to 10 millions depending on his progression to the first team.

If this guy actually lives up to his potential then Zubi can get some credit other then that unnecessary money spent.

5"7; that height.
This kids billed as another Modric type. Which is a good thing. he won't be ready to replace Xavi anytime soon but he is a great signing for the future.
Zubi has probably been working on this deal for the past 4 years lol. dudes so slow....and he always gets ripped off.

Wont judge the deal yet, regardless if he has a year left or not, if he turns out to be special that 10m would be nothing.
If they believe he is that good, then its alright by me, better than waiting untill he contract is up and the English teams can offer him more money and lie to him about starting positions in the squad.

Don't see what the point of signing a knock off version of messi was
And
"he won't be able to replace xavi anytime soon"
He won't be able to replace xavi any time ever. I'm pretty sure the only reason he is compared with modric is because he is from the same country.

Futbol has it right, he's not a Modric type- he's more of a Silva or Messi. Then again, I've never really watched him...just youtube. I did watch a fair amount of his videos when Tottenham were rumored to get him though, so I've watched my fair share of him (on youtube lol).

A knock off version of Messi is still pretty good.

Promising first match for the Croatian teenager. I saw a player with good technique and awareness. At the same time he was mobile and also quick.
His passing was a bit off at times though, needs to improve that aspect.

How much did he cost again? € 2M? WTF?! He looks like Messi's and Iniesta's lovechild.

But the match didnt really answer the key question for me, which, naturally, is: can he play CB?

the main thing that strikes the eye of course is that he's an incredibly good looking young fellow. There's megastar potential in those looks ffs. The kid is DREAMY.
Other that that, the video shows me a larger number of unsuccessful and overhit passes, a couple of lost balls and a dive

Hans, pls go. If you can't see Messi on steroids (real steroids, not this HGH chit) in this video you need some new glasses.

I can see it Fussball, I really can. I can see everything in him.
I should've said 'dreamy, but in a masculine way beyond his age'.
The 14 year old girl in me is hovering between fainting and hysterical screaming right as I type.

Re: Halilovic signs for us
Dont think his position is established yet. He still hasnt finished finding his identity as a player (fairly normal at his age and with his type of skills) and therefore trying to figure out what position is best for him is tricky.
What I do know about the Croatian player development within youth set ups (I have seen 2 seminars delivered by a well respected coach from Croatia who learnt there) is that there is a extraordinary high emphasis on learning various roles within the midfield for midfielders and therefore a high emphasis on learning the different skills of the different positions (pivot, 10, centermid, shuttler).
So I think Halilovic will be adaptable and have the abilities to play whichever role is best for him. I dont see a Cesc situation where someone has been let off the leash tactically and lost various levels of disciple and understanding of different roles.

I understand that at such a young age he doesnt have a fixed position. But my question was more along the lines of,Is he more a midfielder or a forward?
If a midfielder, more like a CM or an AM?

Re: Halilovic signs for us
From what I see, he is certainly a midfielder. So far in his career from what I understand is he has played the 10, not CM.

kinda late but just read this
with this signing we got the family deal apparently alen's 9 and 16 year old brothers have also signed for our juvenile a/b team for a price of somewhere around 40,000
his 16 year old brother (dino halilovic) was close to signing for tottenham but his whole family moved to barca following older brother alen halilovic/

Re: Halilovic signs for us
Played against Argentina recently. His movement with the ball looks so much like Messi. I think he's mostly lacking in the tactical and decision making department and I don't know whether he is a hard worker or a lazy bum but talent-wise the basics seem to be there (touch, control, agility, dribbling).
