A team of 11 (Insert player here) would win CL
Inspired by Mourinho's quote today that a team of 11 Azpilicueta's would win the CL.
Pick the player you'd choose.
I'm going with Phillip Lahm. Great at everything he does and even has a damn good shot.

Lahm, Yaya Toure, Modric or Vidal. Ideal player would have to be a B2B.

Vidal
Has to be a midfielder really, 11 strikers are going to lose 15-6 every game.

I can't see how 11 Messi's could lose to be honest, they wouldn't lose the ball and be a danger from everywhere.

A team of 11 Heskeys = holding up the ball for one another, but never actually taking a shot

You wouldn't find it too funny when you send 3 people mark Messi and he passes the ball to....another Messi. Yea, that would be depressing.
I'll take 11 Gerrard's. 3 from the present to form the base, 8 from his prime to form wide spaces and the forwards.

Too bad Ballack and Frings aren't a thing anymore. You want the CMs with a good shot on them for stunts like this, or players who got converted from defense to offense or vice-versa.
Like XI of Lahm, Schweinsteiger, or Kroos, could probably do it. Gündogan is another obvious choice, for English players I'd say Lamps or Stevie G, someone like Essien, Vidal, or Xabi maybe, though the Spanish lack a player that's equally good on both ends, with Alonso kind of having lost his shot, maybe Iniesta?
At least those are players I'd trust with playing any position, basically. You can of course also single out a player and call him "good enough" to do it, but I prefer versatility.
Other candidates might be Großkreutz because of his ridiculous versatility. Actually, this happened.
If I have to actually choose one I say Schweinsteiger because he's got better technique than Vidal and is taller than Lahm.

Messi doesn't have the workrate, the defensive ability or even the ability in the air to make a successful team of 11.
There's obviously a good chance of conceding when you don't have the ball, when you do...... goal.

11 Andy Mollers': Diving for penalties would be so easy
11 Maradona's: It's the after match parties that would be the spectacle.
or for the present...
11 Xavi's. I assure you, your team would not touch the ball for the whole match.

11 Ronaldos. That was be funny and so entertaining. One would be combing his hair, another diving, another crying, anyone scoring a thunder bolt freekick, another doing a million step overs and dancing around, etc.

Re: A team of 11 (Insert player here) would win CL
I don't think any team of one player multiplied in 11 places can win CL, but I think 11 Adrianos could do pretty well. He is a jack of all trades, though probably average at all trades, provided they are all fit.
EDIT:
Ronaldos and Zlatans et al. would not work because of their egos. They'd end up fighting themselves.

Re: A team of 11 (Insert player here) would win CL
I think it must be Kevin Großkreutz as he actually played everything including GK in actual matches.VivaStPauli wrote:Other candidates might be Großkreutz because of his ridiculous versatility. Actually, this happened.
And if you consider that he ran 12.5 km in yesterday's match, while most teams only run 115-120km altogether, it would be like having two additional players on the pitch.
