Re: Southampton vs. Liverpool
My broadcast said it was his 7th, and it does get refreshed so he won't be suspended until 10.

Gerrard won't get suspended. This was his 7th yellow. But the suspensions gets refreshed in January. Now to get suspended you need 10 yellows. And that gets refreshed second week of April. So we're in the clear.
BTW Sakho and Lucas back for Mancs

I thought he was too contempt to take it easy. I remember zero runs from him up the flank to make himself available for a meaningful forward pass. Did fine defensively, but we should get more from out of him knowing the level he can be at. Disappointing would be what I'd use to describe him in one word.

Re: Southampton vs. Liverpool
I dont think he wanted to take that risk looking how Flano was being massacred on the other wing. Flano at least had Henderson, Allen did fck all and kept drifting in deep.
Johnson was 1v2 for most parts, I dont blame him.
We always had him back when Flano got caught out of positions like 4-5 times on counter. I was annoyed as well, But it worked out perfectly in the end.

Re: Southampton vs. Liverpool
Suarez is pure class. Best player in the world right now. I don't think it's even debatable IMO.
You know, the possession numbers seem misleading. Most of Southampton's possession was stifled and their only good chance would have been blocked by a defender (instead of hitting the post) if it had been on the net. I was impressed with our defending today. Our attack was clinical as always and Suarez easily could have had 2 or 3 more.
Imagine how many league goals Suarez would have if they let him take all the penalties he's earned. :O
YNWA!!

Yeah, maybe you've got a point. We never looked like dominating that left flank.

Of course possession stats can be very misleading, one has to watch the game to get the idea of how it went. I think we had less possession at least against Everton in the 4 - 0 and perhaps against Arsenal in the 5 - 1.
However, to say that most of Soton's possession was contained and they had only one good chance is only remembering the 2nd half of the game. Southampton were all over us for 30 minutes in the first-half and could have scored one or two at least. I was somewhat impressed with out CBs today, but not with our midfield, which also contributes to defense.

henderson killed llalana out of the game last night (after half time) really underrated performance but his first was average
sterling has turned out to be a pivotal player for us. hes going to run circles around united

Re: Southampton vs. Liverpool
Is flanno a natural LB, im sure he is, why does Rodgers persist with playing him and glenno in opposite sides to their natural game. ?

Re: Southampton vs. Liverpool
Mr-r, Flanno is a natural RB. He was RB at every youth level. Only reason he played LB is because he's pretty comfortable with his left foot and god knows none of us wanted to see either one of Agger/Sakho at LB.
You may be thinking of Robbo who has always been a left back.

Yes that's it, when he filled in at LB as well he didn't look that out of place, so that might if deceived me as well.
Still think they should swap over, gleno just isn't doing much at lb.

Joe Allen could be in the middle of a volcano and he'd still ask for the ball. He always makes himself an option
