Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
It was a difficult away game. No Schweni or Ribery. Had Ribery been there the LW would have been better and Alaba would have had more support defensively. It would also allowe Goetze to play with Kroos centrally.
This is a team in progress but tactically this team is far above last season's team. Technically and Variety also the team has taken a leap.
Pep's still is more offensive, no double pivot and very high offside trap. It is not easy to pull off and there will be issues initially. When perfected with a full injury less squad it is going to be a different monster, far dangerous than Jupp's team.
Thought Robben had a fanatastic game. Amazing runs, small combinations and he streched the field as soon the Red Card game. Too bad tactically others could not take advantage of the gap between Monreal and the rest.
Also it was sweat dropping down. Surprised people called it spitting.
Alaba was taken to the cleaners by OX and Boateng was bad. Would love to see Ribery be back soon.
Bayern could do with a World Class CB next season in the league of T. Silva. It would make the team a different beast.

The worst thing is that Guardiola might come back for Koscielny in the summer and I can't blame him tbh, the man is a proper beast!

Mandzukic touched the ball 11 times yesterday. He passed it successfully 3 times. Lewandowski will love Pep's system. ![Laughing](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif)

Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
That's a very common problem with Bayern, especially this season. They mostly spend the first 15-20 minures in deep hibernation (against BL sides as well!), and they are usually lucky they have Manuel Neuer who makes sure they don't get punished during that time. The problems for the opponents begin when Bayern start to wake up.M99 wrote:Worries of Bayern fans on Bayern not starting the game strong enough before the match proved to be justified.
You really this this would have gone in? For some reason I would have expected a miss there, too. XDM99 wrote:Btw no one talking of the Koscielny foul at the end? That was a clear penalty.
I'm still hopeful that Holger Badstuber will return and become as good as he was before his injury.Footyfan wrote:Bayern could do with a World Class CB next season in the league of T. Silva. It would make the team a different beast.

Mandzukic was totally invisible for the whole match. It seemed like Bayern didn't even need him on the pitch

Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
To sum it up ...
Arsenal is cursed and that will continue for a long time.
Our team is very talented but mentally not prepared for these kind of matches.
Once Bayern started to pass around, I knew something bad is gonna happen.
We are not quite there yet.

What is the curse?
It's 4 times in a row now when Arsenal loses in 1/8 (2*Bayern,Milan,Barca), maybe that's Arsenal's level... Winning the group helps avoiding Bayern and Barcelona early...

No it isn't over yet.
But wihle I was very nervous going into the game now I feel that we had our bad day of this year's tie already, and I'm confident you won't stand a chance at anything in München this time.

Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
Bayern proved just how good they are again. I feed even Ozil missing the pen and if Arsenal didnt get penalized for the penalty and red Bayern were just the better side. Arsenal just struggled to create.
Its a shame another English club lost a man and had to play down to 10. Kroos and Lahm in the second half had so much time especially just to control everything. They were outstanding. Lahm bossing at RB and even more so at midfield, what a player.
And Pep is already saying he wants Kroos to stay at Bayern now ![Razz](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

Or maybe it's because we get drawn with some ridiculously difficult teams, year in, year out? Although I agree with you that winning the group would help us avoid thatIon Creanga wrote:It's 4 times in a row now when Arsenal loses in 1/8 (2*Bayern,Milan,Barca), maybe that's Arsenal's level... we wanted Kroos to stay all along anyway, it's not like he played well for the first time you know.

This. Win or draw your goddamn game at Napoli, then we can have some b-side for the last 16, you can have some b-side, dortmund could take care of Utd and we would all have been happier.
You think I'm glad we have to face Arsenal every year in the round of *bleep* last 16?
Last year it was Arsenal, Juve, Barca going to the final, I want some Zenit or Olympiakos thrown in there for a change ffs

You have faced 3 times the undisputed best team in the world at the respective time in 1/8 finals ... A severe punishment for not winning the groups...Lex wrote:Or maybe it's because we get drawn with some ridiculously difficult teams, year in, year out? Tbf, our group stages in recent years haven't exactly been walks in the park. This year, though, we hand it in our own hands and threw it away ![Mad](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_mad.gif)

Re: Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Munich
it was a bloody tough group this year, at the beginning I guess every team would have taken that second spot if offered.
but in the end, yes, a simple draw at Napoli had sufficed.
Though I saw Napoli against Dortmund and I thought heck they're strong at home.
But just as you are wary of getting tough ties, for us drawing Arsenal out of all the other possibilities isn't pretty either.
You were the only team of the second places on our level, and it's a tie we could always just as well lose, as yesterday showed.

Not really.
Schalke,Olympiakos and Montpellier last season.
Shakthar,Braga and Partizan in 10-11 when you finished 2nd.
You'd expect Arsenal to top the group with these sort of teams.Arsenal have been getting pretty kind draws bar this year. And this season, like you said ,you had your fate in your own hands and you blew it away.
Arsenal have themselves to blame, really. Its not some sort of 'curse' or anything.

Yes,but you were expected to finish 1st in each of these groups.
I dont know, but compared to other top seeded teams, thats some relatively easy groups imo.Bar this year ofcourse.
