I'm not a big fan of Montoya, but calm down on him. He's only 22 and surely his decision making and final pass can improve. I'm excited by the amount of chances he creates in the overlap and I'm sure once he gets a couple of good passes, he will unblock his problem and start being a good assister. It's a mental block and lack of experience. Let's also remember that he has the same assists as Dani Alves in 500 minutes less.

That is if  he stays anyway.

Alexis turned 23 the December before signing in the summer. Where was your patience then   

But no seriously, I never liked Montoya at any point but he was better than the level he is playing at now, confidence doesnt seem right and he isnt playing autonomously.

1- Alexis was one year older
2- He had plenty of experience in top flight. Development of a player is not linear.
3- He costed 40 milion and was a starter. A free back up obviously doesn't need to be as good as an expensive signing.
4- Even all this, I atually said at the end of the first season that Alexis would improve because he was young.
