Moyes training methods branded "prehistoric" by renowned fitness coach
In this interview Raymond Verheijen explains why he believes David moyes is at fault for Robin Van persie's injury and has some harsh words for the mind set of british football pundits.

Moyes responds: " I don’t know who he is. Maybe if he shows me his credentials and why he’s got reason to speak up then fine but I don’t know anything about him"
Verheijen retaliates via twitter - https://twitter.com/raymondverheije
"Four World Cups, four Euro’s, 1 Champions League, 1 UEFA Cup, 2 UEFA Super cups, 3 National titles, 3 national cups….did I forget something?"
(tournaments hes been involved in as a fitness coach)
What do y'all think?

LMFAOOOOOOOOO
I think the stories of RVP being unhappy with his methods are becoming more and more apparent that they were true.

Rooney seems to have benefited from his training methods.

"Traditionally, the coaching education in Britain is very poor. They get little to no training in fitness and, thus, there's a gap of knowledge there. To make up for that gap, they hire fitness scientists. But the issue there is that these fitness scientists know every little about football and they haven't applied their theories to football specifically. So what you have is a gap in knowledge being replaced by another gap in knowledge. Countries likes Spain, Netherlands, Spain and France... you have very comprehensive coaching training that includes fitness training. So in those countries, you have properly applied fitness science to the sport of football."

Bitter little man. He comes across as mad that someone he thinks is 'not good enough' is managing Manchester United.

Yeah, thats rubbish though. Anyone who has a degree in Sports physiology for example, HAS to be show application to specific sports or they dont come to close to passing.
Sure, in coaching badges by the FA, there is almost no fitness education. But dismissing every "fitness scientist" it bs and I know that first hand.

Re: Moyes training methods branded "prehistoric" by renowned fitness coach
what does this dutch 'fitness guru' actually know about Moyes' training? Has he seen it? Has he spoken to someone, to van Persie for example?
He hasn't. He read that Moyes used the word 'overtrained' and went on to judge Moyes (and the whole English) training regiment based on that.
So he was fitness coach to some successful teams. Big deal. Still this is much ado about nothing.

I think the stories of RVP being unhappy with his methods are becoming more and more apparent that they were true.
btw, this is a textbook example of comfirmation bias based on tautological media feedback evidence.
If I remember right, this dutch guy actually made the original remarks commenting on an article that van Persie supposedly was unhappy ('people close to...' etc bla bla by the DAILY STAR), and on some interview where Moyes used the word 'overtrained', and based on that went on a tirade against 'dinosaur methods' in a Guardian article.
He probably has a book out or something.
To conclude from that that the original articles must be true, well, it doesn't work like that.
Maybe van Persie is indeed unhappy about training etc. But this dutch guy wouldn't know anything about it, not more than we do.

True. But i think what he's saying is that club physios are very qualified and follow players since they are kids at youth academies... The footy specialists in fitness are emersed in footy for years in the countries he mentioned. It's more a "checking the box" thing in the UK apparently. The Franchise wrote:sportsczy wrote:"Traditionally, the coaching education in Britain is very poor. Robin van Persie returned to training in Manchester earlier in week after training with PSV fitness coach in Holland. Nearing return.
